SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I got an email from this guy stating that he was promoting his keyword search software at a discount of 75%.  It goes on to say in the email, "However, I forgot to mention that the price goes up every few sales (by a dime)". Yeah, he just so happened to "forget" to mention, AKA bait and switch/false advertising.  So, you go to the link below and what does it say in the SALES LETTER? "75% discount for 7 days only!".

It shows the regular price is $97.  That should be a price of $24.25.  Nope, once you try to purchase the software it's at least $35.55 (if he hasn't already increased it even more).  This is a total bait and switch/false advertising!  You can't say something is 75% off in your sales letter then change the price.

On a side note, I used the software as a free trial and decided there was no way it was worth $97.  I couldn't tell much of a difference between it and google adwords, which is FREE.  It didn't find any unique keywords for my niche that google adwords hadn't already found.

Well, low and behold every week since I get some email from him offering such a great deal.  First it was $75, now its $35.55.  If I was a current customer who bought the product at $97, I would be very upset that now its being peddled for much less.  That's a horrible way to treat customers.  Sell it for what you think it's worth and leave it at that.  Then continue to add updates and features that continue to make it worth the original price point.

Here is the link advertised in the email:

Oh, and if you want another good laugh go into the sales letter, then go back in later.  It magically changes from 11 available to 4.  Then if you go in later it changes back to 11 or some other number to scam you into thinking there's a limited availability and that you better hurry and get it before they're all gone.

Here is a copy of the email in its entirety:

I know I just emailed you yesterday, but I needed to fill you in on something that I forgot to mention.

I told you yesterday that Long Tail Pro is doing a 7 day promotion where
its 75% off. That WAS true. However, I forgot to mention that the
price goes up every few sales (by a dime).

Check out the sale here: http://www.longtailpro.com/75off

However, what was totally unexpected was how many people would buy it so quickly! I really didn't think my little software would attract so much attention.

So, if you want in on Long Tail Pro at still way over 50% off the regular price, you better jump in quick.

As you probably know, Long Tail Pro has been my "baby" for the past 2
years. I've improved and optimized the tool over that time to make it
the absolute best keyword research tool out there.

Its fast, effective, and will find you the money keywords you need faster than anything else out there.

I hope you take advantage of this 7 day sale...so if you are interested, the sooner the better.

Thanks again!
