I contacted Low Cost Computer Help hoping they could diagnose and fix my computer. they told me it was my video card, so I went out and spent another 200.00 on a nice video card, i put it in and the same problem was happening. i then took my computer to a professional service and they told me it was my motherboard. i replaced the mother board and it booted up great. when i talked to low cost computer help to refund my money they refused and told me i would just have to basically eat the cost of both the card and service provided.

I would not recommend these people at all they're crooks

you did it yourself

If I understand your post, it sounds like you asked them what was wrong. They told you what they thought it could be, but, instead of paying them to install it for you, you decided to do it yourself.

Maybe if you had paid them to do the labor and install, the technician would have installed the card and then noticed that the problem was still there, and then find out what the real problem was, and NOT charged you for a card that you didn't need.

It doesn't make sense to call them crooks, they're not WAL-MART, I would refuse to accept the return too, video cards are sensitive pieces of electronic equipment that can be damaged by mishandling.

What are they going to do with this now opened box that they have no idea if you've damaged something on it. Resell it? Great, now how would you feel if you purchased a returned $200 video card that some moron who knows just enough about computers to F^%k them up played around with while trying to "fix" his own computer?

If you paid 200 dollars for a "nice" video card as you said, now that you had someone else replace the motherboard, why don't you load up some games and take advantage of that new graphics card, and turn lemons into lemonaide?

I don't work for that company or even live anywhere near it, or know anyone who works for it.
