Lowes Does not stand behind their products. Lafayette, Louisiana

My mother's house burned in August of 2009, she had to rebuild, she lost everything. The process we did was to get bids for everything. I got bids to clear the old structure, bids to build pad, and bids to build new house. During the building process I got bids on appliances and etc. When I went to Lowes to get a bid to build the structure, Lowes refused to bid unless we paid them $500 dollars to do so. We opted not to pay the $500, however mom got bids on floors and appliances from Lowes. She purchase approximately $12,000 plus with Lowes. Well the washer/dryer combo gave mom trouble simce installation, the unit always squeaked while in operation. Lowes sent a second unit to replace it, however the truck driver did something to the unit, and the noise was not as loud, but he said all of the units like this one squeak some, and did not replace the unit. We had to have the unit worked on three seperate occasions by Lowes repair people, and now the unit vibrates like you could not believe, and appears to want to walk out the bathroom. We contacted Lowes, but the warranty is out as of May 10, 2011, moms birthday no less. Now Lowes is leading us to believe, that since Mom didn't purchase everything with Lowes, they aren't going to honor their appliance.

Mom is seventy-one, by no means is my mother old, nor am I saying mom can't take care of herself, but when your mother is hurt, her children are hurt. Momma is going to have to purchase a new unit, but guess where she isn't going? Lowes is refusing to fix the unit, and Lowes is refusing to replace the unit, so if you buy with Lowes, be ready to eat the unit after you buy it, because Lowes won't repair it, not honor it, they just sell it.
