After meeting these lawyers in person, you will leave the office feeling good about your choice in representation.  That will be the last time you feel good dealing with these scam artists.  Peter Lucido personally assured me that he would represent me in the courtroom.  I never saw him again after I signed the retainer agreement.  I told him I was not going to sign the agreement unless he assured me that he would personally represent me.  He agreed but did not keep his word.  Of course, he did keep the money.

He also promised that if the evidence came back clean, he would motion for the case to be dismissed.  The evidence came back clean.  He never filed a motion to get the case dismissed.  He saw an opportunity to get more money by dragging out this case, which was a flat rate contract, and he pounced on his chance.

At my arraignment, Peter Lucido sent Vincenzo Manzella to represent me.  He came to court unprepared.  Instead of having a list of questions for the accuser on the witness stand, he had me write down questions to ask.  He didn't even ask the questions I wrote down citing "those questions are not for an arraignment, they are for trial".  He wanted my case to go to trial so he could get an additional $15,000.

His agreement works as follows:  $10,000 retainer fee.  $5,000 additional if the case gets bound over to circuit court.  $10,000 more if the case goes to trial and $2,500 per motion filed (most motions I found out cost roughly $20).  Lucido sent another attorney, who I never met before, to circuit court.  All he did was get the case adjourned for another month.  Then he sent me a $5,000 bill for 10 minutes of his associates time.  The day before my court date, Peter Lucido set up an appointment with the court to get dismissed from my case.  He never informed me of his actions or invited me to this hearing.  I showed up to court the following day only to find out my lawyer was no longer representing me.  Talk about feeling abandoned!

These lawyers do not return your phone calls.  These lawyers do not call you with updates on your case.  These lawyers see a vulnerable victim and prey on their scared, emotional state of mind like a lion stalks weak antelope. These lawyers only do one thing... RIP YOU OFF!

LUCIDO LAW FIRM IS ABOVE THE LAW

AUTHOR: Ron - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, July 23, 2014

I was ripped off roughly 10 years ago by lucido...  In brief, I was charged with a crime that I did not commit and lucido represented me...

I had all the proof that I did not commit the crime and my lawyer attempted to get me to take a plea to the charge even though I was innocent..

I refused a dozen times to take the plea and my case was dismissed... My lawyer got pissed off at me because I did not feel the need to plea to a crime that i did not commit and started threatening me in front of my mom & her husband right inside the courthouse..

The lawyer came out of the courtroom and asked me if I brought my fkn checkbook.. I responded with " What for " because I paid my lawyer in full to get me to trial... While trying to get me to take the plea the lawyer told me that if my case goes to trial I am going owe another 3,000 for trial... My case never went to trial and Lucido waited almost a year before him and his drinking buddy judge at courthouse used an old address of mine to make good on threats to steal the 3,000 that he claimed that i owed... Thats right, the judge entered a judgement against me in which I was in default for failure to appear in a suit brought on by Lucido for money that he claimed that was owed.. After successfully obtaining a judgement the same judge signed an " order to sieze property " and they litterally stoled my Icecream truck... Clinton Township is full of corrupt politicians and police...

Lucido is now running for state representative in 2014, I not only warn against getting envolved with this law firm, I suggest not voting for this fool....

Update to a report I posted regarding Lucido & Manzella attorneys

AUTHOR: Calin Pusta - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 30, 2014

When I originally wrote the post I did not fully understand the court process and the legal fees I agreed to.  Since I wrote that post, the attorneys have contacted me and explained why my case resolved the way it did.

When I wanted to ask questions of the witnesses at an arraignment, I now know that there are court rules that only allow certain questions and issues to be raised in this preliminary proceeding.  This is why Vincenzo Manzella could not ask all of the questions that I wanted.  However, he did tell me that if the case went to trial, we could ask some of those questions in a trial as long as the complied with the court rules.

Next, I found out that it is true that a motion fee in the circuit court is a usually $20 filing fee.  But to file for a motion the attorneys had to gather documents, transcripts of prior hearings, police reports, and witness statements, in addition to drafting a lengthy brief with legal research and arguments.  Then the attorneys also have to attend the motion hearing in court and argue the motion to the judge,  The $2500 motion fee is to compensate that lawyer for their time in gathering, preparing and arguing the motion in court, not just the filing fee.

The attorneys have since explained to me that the court process can be long and frustrating, as the courts schedule court dates and we have to follow them.  I now understand that the delays and adjournments were a result of court schedules and usually in my best interest so my attorneys had time to get the right documents and information before court.  After I did not pay my bill, the attorneys filed a motion to withdraw from my case because this was the agreement I signed with them.  If I would have paid my bill on time, the attorneys would not have withdrawn.  I have since paid my bill and discussed these issues with Peter Lucido and Vincenzo Manzella.

My post was out of frustration and misunderstanding.  The law office represented me and advocated on my behalf.  They have reached out to help resolve these issues and I would recommend them to my friends and family.

I, too, am a victim of Pete Lucido. I cannot beleive he hasn't been greieved and sactioned. This guy is the con of all cons. Do not get sucked in by all his BS. He does not do what he says he will do and will leave you high and dry the night before your court appearance, if you don't pay him more money.
