Lufthansa Miles & More Miles & More is a ripoff program promising you "free flights" that are never available. Santa Clarita California

I hope that the following will give prospective "Miles & More" members an idea of what they can expect from the program:

Lufthansa makes their customers believe that there are no blackout dates for award flights. That's correct- they just make award flights "unavailable" during the times when people usually fly. In April/ May 2006 we asked for an awards flight to Europe in September and miraculously nothing was "available" until November, 27, 2006 (who wants to travel on november, 27...?)

What these guys do is to limit the "available" seats for award flights to 2 or 3 (they won't make it public how many seats can actually be booked for award flights) When you call, then its "Sorry, all seats are taken..." Naturally, if you pay for your flight, seats are available. This "unavailability" is even more rediculous if you consider that not only Lufthansa participates in the Miles & More program but many other airlines like US-Air, United, Singapore Airlines, etc. what Miles and More wants you to believe is that you can use the miles on any of these airlines but the day when you make your awards booking call these guys suggest that during several months "all seats to and from Europe on all Star Alliance flights are taken".

Worse: Your miles, even the miles that you have purchased !!!!, are going to expire before you even get a chance to use them. We spent about $ 600,- together for additional miles believing that we could use them for an awards flight. These miles are going to expire next year and Miles & More won't refund our money.

It's like putting money into a bank and getting a notice "Sorry, your $$$$ are going to expire in a few months... No, withdrawals are not possible".
