There is something wrong with this woman. Her name is Kyra Howell and her behavior leads me to believe that she's a heavy drug user. The fact that she capitalizes the first letter of every word should give you an idea of the kind of person we are talking about. She cleaned my cabin on Mt. Hood a few times and did a poor job the times I checked after she had cleaned. She was paid for all of those cleanings. She did 2 more cleans while I was in Mexico taking care of my dying father. She was supposed to clean the house during the week of May 2, but she disappeared. She was not replying to text messages, phone calls, voice mails or emails to confirm that she had cleaned it or would clean it. I had renters arriving on Friday May 6, but from the second half of Monday May 2 till late Wednesday night she didn’t reply to any of my multiple attempts each day to reach her to confirm that she had cleaned or was going to clean the house before the guests arrived on Friday. Since I hadn’t heard back, on Wednesday at 11pm I purchased a plane ticket to fly back to Portland the next morning at 6am. I was only coming back to clean the house because I couldn’t have guests arriving to a completely dirty house from the previous guests.

She finally replied to one of my texts when I was landing in Vancouver on Thursday morning, saying that they had been cleaning the house since the previous day, but claimed that the wifi was not working. That was a lie. I went to the house on Friday to make sure they had cleaned it on Thursday as she claimed and to see how they left it. When I arrived on Friday, they were there, but it seemed like they had just started cleaning. I had to spend 6 hours there fixing her “cleaning” and doing a great part of the cleaning myself so that the house was presentable. At this point, I owed her $425 for 3 cleanings, but as far as I was concerned, she owed me $600 for the plane ticket I had to buy to come back. I owed her $425 and she owed me $600. By being so irresponsible (disappearing for almost 3 days when she was supposed to have cleaned the house), or perhaps she couldn’t reply because she was sky-high, she made me fly back to Portland while my dad could die any day. When I originally flew down there, I had planned to be there till he passed.

I flew to Mexico 2 days later to be there when my father died, which happened on Wednesday May 12. After this, she emailed me saying I owed her $1,215 (rather than the $425 that it actually was). She claimed that I owed her for 4 cleanings at $275 each. She invented that number because the actual rate was $125 per clean. I offered her $175 for ONE of the cleans when she needed to do it the day the guests were leaving because other guests were arriving the next day. I never refused to pay, as she claims. I asked her to give me a list of the days she had cleaned that she had not been paid for. She couldn’t produce such a simple list. Instead, she replied that I should give her $500 and we’d call it even. She said I also owed her husband $500 for work he did, and if I paid them $1,000 I would get my keys back and the tools that her husband took.

Her husband was working as a handyman, but he would always want to work on things that I didn't ask him to do. I paid him for that work, but I wrote to the 2 of them that from then on I would not pay him for any work that I had not asked for or approved in writing. Rather than working on the several projects that I gave him, he decided to work on something that I hadn’t asked for and that didn’t need to be done, which took him a couple of days. I was actually going to pay him something, but not the full amount. I asked the to come and meet with me because I wanted to negotiate how much I would pay them, but she didn’t reply.

Instead of meeting with me, she started flagging my posts on Craigslist for a new cleaning person and took to writing lies about me on here. There is something seriously wrong with her. Remember that to this day she has not given me a list of the days she claims I owe her for and she has not give me a description of the work her husband did or the days he did it on.

 I’m sorry Kyra. I’m not paying you anything until you give me the list of work that has been done. I need it itemized so I know what I really owe you. You have had ample opportunity to give me the list of work. If you won’t supply it, I have to assume that I don’t owe you anything. I’m being very reasonable, and I don’t see why you can’t give me a list of the work that has been done with the dates that it was done on. It’s very simple. 

If I don’t get that list before the weekend, you can keep the keys and I’ll just change the locks. I’m installing an alarm system in the house that will be connected to the police, so don’t go inside under any circumstance.

Regarding what I owe you, where did you get the $275 per clean number? It’s $125 and I offered you $175 for ONE clean in particular (please check the email in which I sent that to you). Please redo your numbers. I flew back from Mexico because you weren’t replying. I contacted you time and again and you never replied and you never let me know BEFORE you go to clean as I have instructed you several times. Can you please list what I owe you line by line, including the date of the cleaning? Otherwise you can say I owe you for any number of cleanings. As of now, I owe you for 3 cleanings, and I can prove it, so please list out which 4 you think I owe you for, unless you are including the one from the guests that left on Monday, which I don’t think you have done yet. If you are including the one from these last guests, then it would be 4. 

For any expenses that you want reimbursed, I need an ORIGINAL receipt from the supplier (in this case the dump). I have told you that I need original receipts for everything, regardless of whether the IRS accepts copies or not. I also wrote to you that I need to approve any expense for any items before you purchase them, but you guys have been buying stuff without my approval, and John has been working on projects that weren’t approved. That’s my rule and you have been told. I fly back tonight and I will be at the mountain on Sunday in case you want to meet there for me to pay you. Let me know if you’ll be cleaning on Monday. 

If you read the ripoff report, you can clearly see that it was written by a competitor that can’t compete. You can’t find anything else negative about me, as I have never ripped anyone off, and I’m not about to start with you.
