My girlfriend and myself went to Lute Riley Honda in Richardson to see about purchasing a used car. We met with a salesman and he informed us that before he could speak to us about purchasing a car, I had to sign an agreement that stated that if the both of us agreed upon a price, I would purchase the car. I told him I really didn't see the need to sign this agreement but he said if I didn't, he could not show us any cars.

I reluctantly signed the agreement. I found a car I liked and we started negotiations on the price. He kept pulling the old routine of going back to the manager when I made counter-offer to their final price. I was getting tired of this and finally when it became apparent we would not agree on price, we got up to leave.

As we were walking out, I saw the salesman speaking to his manager who I later found out was Troy Woods. As we walked outside, Troy Woods came after us. It was night time and we had just stepped out of the building and he followed us outside. He walked toward us in a threatening manner and he started talking to me in a very loud voice, angry voice.

He said I had signed an agreement to purchase a car and now I was backing out of our agreement. I told him that we had not agreed upon a price so I was not bound to buy anything. He stared yelling at me, telling me my word was no good and generally doing his best to harass us and embarrass me in front of my girlfriend, which I think was his main intention.

I could not believe someone that represented a company would act in this threatening, harassing manner. As you could imagine, I was very angry. The next day I sent a letter to Lute Riley Honda about what had happened. They responded to my letter just basically defending his behavior.

I would advise anyone looking to purchase a car to avoid this place unless you want to be forced to sign an agreement and then verbally harassed and embarrassed if you don't purchase a car. I have never heard of a car dealership pulling this kind of unethical sales tactic.

aI agree with you all the way as I walked off twice before called back by Danthe car in was when I had problems and still am. I was even poked fun of and moe and so many mistakes were made and I have been blamed as a customer as Lute Riley jsut cannot be wrong at all.

 

There are two sales persons who you can trust. One is Ricky Bobby and Kenny and they work together. I agree that even part of their finance and management has been a nightmare for me also and  too have been pushed around like a yo yo and told you got a good deal so what else mam and more.

 

I am still fighting them. It has not been a nce experience at all on my trading the car in. If I had not read through when I got home and caught the errors, I would have been ripped off for sure and not gotten my refunds. I will no say anymore.

I need to congratulate you on using your TWO FEET to walk out of this place. However, my question is if you were so uncomfortable with this "agreement" why didn't you walk out then and save tons of time???

Always remember, YOU are a valuable person. Car dealers need you...you don't need any car dealer. Without customers, they die. You have ALL THE POWER!

I suspect you will continue looking for a car. If so, please remember the above, ok?

Whenever any car dealer does something you are uncomfortable with, get up and walk out! As a valuable person, you don't need to take any sh-- from any car dealer. Remember, THEY NEED YOU....you don't need them!

Those who are part of the Sleazy American Car Business depend and expect every customer walking thru the door plays doormat, chump or sucker roles. Don't be one of them. Let me say it again....they need you...you don't need them!

Also, make absolute POSITIVE you read and understand every point of any contract they pressure you to sign. DO NOT make the mistake of signing and reading later to find out you were hit with some bogus add-on phoney fee. This board is FULL with people who cry and whine because they didn't read what they signed.

Again, you did the RIGHT THING by walking out. You should of done that much earlier.

You are a VALUABLE person! YOU don't need any car dealer...THEY NEED YOU!

Act accordingly!!!!!
