I started car shopping about 6 weeks ago and came accross Mac Churchill Acura. As my credit is not the best, I knew I would be limited on what we could by so I set my bar low and chose a 2008 Pontiac G6 with 18,000 mile listed on the website at 12,900. We were told that people "like us" were not allowed to finance vehicles like the Pontiac but could only purchase selected vehicles from the east side of the lot that were high mileage and smelled like rolling ash trays. When I asked what "people like us" meant he said people with less than perfect credit. Despite the fact that some of the vehicles he showed us were 3 and 4 thousand dollars higher on the web site than the G6, we were told that we were not allowed the G6 because it was a "quality" vehicle reserved for "other" customers. Needless to say, none of the vehicles he showed us made us happy, and I told him, that we would wait on the G6 if they changed their mind. Well, the G6 had already been on the lot for about a month, so 4 weeks later I called an asked again. The salesman said that he finally talked to "the bank", and they said that if we came up with 1200 dollars, we could have the car for 370 dollars per month. Well, we had just returned from a family emergency, and did not have that kind of money. Our salesman suggested that we could let our current car go into voluntary repossetion and then we could afford this vehicle. Not a great idea especially when we are trying to mend our credit, but the payment on our other car was 590 dollars, and this would be a big savings in both payment and gasoline. He assured us that our credit rating would only take a hit of ten points. We decided to do it, picked up the car on Friday, sifgned the loan paperwork, gave our deposit, and drove off. I changed over my insurance, acticated Onstar, and called our current finance company and told them to come repo the car. 5 days later I brought the car back in for some warranty work, The passenger side air bag was disabled and the right rear door would not open, and because I brought it in for the work, I got a call that afternoon, and they said the bank called and cancelled my loan because they wanted more money. What a crock!! They just were upset that I wanted the car to be operating correctly, and they did not want to provide the necessary work. My wife was devastated. She loved that car and they made us jump through hoops to get it. They were dishonest, decietful, and definately profile there customers. We were even told that only certain people are allowed to buy Acuras, even used ones. My advice, stay away from Mac Churchill if you are not rich and have a pocket full of cash!!

I am a prospective customer and would like to know the outcome of this complaint. Especially since

the apparent owner of Mac Churchill responded. A complaint such as this one with no explanation

of the outcome raises serious doubts. The reason being that the woding of the response is an admission that

an event as described happened. A simple request in public (online) for the complaintant

to call is certainly no explanation of what the resolution was or that it indeed was resolved.

I believe I would not shop at a dealership such as this one until a reasonable answer is posted.

fyi....It would have been better that the owner had not responsed if nothing was going to be done

to answer the complaint.
