In the end of July I went to the Mademoiselle Spa and after agonizing whether or not i should pay the 521.00 for a two year sign up, i decided to pay and join the gym.

I got married in October and when i returned from my wedding and was ready to start using the gym again, i found out that they closed. I was fuming. I never signed any paper that said they could close. As a matter of fact, they told me that they have been open for over 30 years and have many branches and are a loyal gym.

I now have no way of getting in touch with them, and i am very upset. I would like to get my money back.

Fake health spa steals your money, then drains the Jacuzzi?

It figures!

It's the take-your-money-and-run con. There are a million variations. Basically you pay in advance for something that ends a short time later.

I can't see a way to recover your fee. After 6 months, they cashed the check or charged the card. Not much chance of reversing it now.

You had the right idea. You were nervous about paying. It's a shame you decided to go through with it.

Next time, stick with a large chain. Of course, you could still lose. If the Denver location closes, where are you going to go? Pueblo? I don't think so!

If a sauna is a big deal to you, consider buying a used one and putting it in your home. Used, these things aren't worth much. You almost have to give them away to get rid of them.

Or, buy a bathtub insert. That's a super cheap way to go.

As for exercise, the best thing you can do is plain old walking. Hell, you're in Denver. It doesn't get much better than that. In addition, you could invest in a set of weights for home use.

In the long run, something at home is far more likely to be used on a regular basis. And, just think, you'll never need to share it with anyone but your husband. Not so at the gym.

Make your next investment in something that you will own and use frequently.
