Once the free trial was up and I paid for a 5 year program they are trying to charge me for the same call.  Their advertising states "You get FREE local and long distance calls to anywhere in the US and/or Canada any time of day or night"   If this is true then why are they trying to charge me for a call now?

Enjoy what they said....what stupid people.... no phone number, or US people.

Nataly: Hello, how may I help you?

brian: I have had magic jack for about a month. In the past week we have been getting a message when we
dial that "to make a confrence call" or one that we would be charged international minutes.

brian: Can you explain this to me? What is happening? The calls are here in the US.

Nataly: Okay, let me assist you with that

Nataly: In the Terms of Service: magicjack.com/tos

Nataly: Agreement Number
4. What Is Free and What is Not:

Nataly: "We may
require prepaid purchase and/or we may charge you for calls to conference lines, platforms and certain non-ILEC area calls, or any call wherein we incur a cost from another carrier."

Nataly: magicJack
completes calls to conference lines, platforms and certain non ILEC area calls in conjunction with large phone carriers and these calls require a prepaid purchase. Please know that these rates are at a substantial discount to Verizon
rates and the other largest carriers and are the wholesale rates of the largest carrier.

brian: Does this mean that these people can not call my magic jack number (incoming call)?

Nataly: They can call you brian: I have called this number dozens of times in the last three weeks with no problem. WHat is the deal? Why now change today? This has got to be a mistake.

Nataly: I will be right with you.

Nataly: Terms of Service section 4. What Is Free and What is Not:

brian: I think you mis understand my question. I have been calling this number for weeks with no issue. Why is there now an issue?

Nataly: Okay

Nataly: The magic Jack and/or magic Jack Plus device or magic Jack APP allows you to receive for free incoming calls using the phone number you have chosen. supervisor, even I transfer you to our supervisor you will received the same answer  Xander: With regards to that, there really is nothing that we can do on these. The only way to call those non-ILEC phone numbers would be to get IPP minutes for it. There really is no other way to reach them.

brian: You do not understand.

brian: I could make this call until this week. Now I can't. WHY?

Xander: It really is something that cannot be undone here. Some of these changes on the numbers that you are calling may have happened just recently and it really can't be helped as we don't really have full control over those.

brian: "You get FREE local and long distance calls to anywhere in the US and/or Canada any time of day or  ight"........this is from your advertisement there is nothing that states that charges for some calls. It says"anywhere". I want a person that can handle this.

Xander: That is true but certain limitations on some numbers are not something that we can avoid. We do specify this in the Terms of Service and these are laid out before you register the device.

brian: Can you spell FALSE ADVERTISING?
