Had two Magic Jacks for several years, they worked pretty well. Received an email from them in December 2013 touting the newest Magic Jack Plus. Ordered one. It worked for a week or two then quit. Did the chat support routine for nearly 40 minutes with two or three different people going around in circles with them while they had me removing batteries from my cordless phones and performing all sorts of nonsenical checks on everything except THEIR equipment. Eventually, the third Magic Jack person actually admitted to me that the issue was theirs and was a software issue and I should just "keep trying" until they fixed it.

I asked if she had known that all along and she ADMITTED that she had! As I always do in situations like this, I copied the entire chat and have it as proof of their lies. I'll be filing a claim with my credit card company, but I'm still out the thirty or forty bucks for the previous Magic Jack which I threw away when I got the new one. In the future, I will NEVER buy anything from a company which has CHAT as it's only means of support.

 Sweet heart you need to hush. He is voicing his opinon about a company who lied and cheated. He isnt trying to get something for nothing he is tryign to say that they lied and werent willing to replace defective equipment. MagicJack and BasicTalk all use refurbished equipment. They also use old stuff that companies no longer want. They clean it up and put a new label on it calling it Magicjack. They are all crooks and need to be f**king stopped.

 

Btw to the original complaint i think you should take them to small claims court cause they are scemers just like BasicTalk!

 Say what you will, it will not change the fact that you are a THIEF!!!! There is a issue and MJ has acknowledged this. What makes you think you have a right to purchase a item then when there is a issue, demand that the CC GIVE you the full amount of your purchase back. You will have the device, even if its not working correctly AND you will have a full refund. Thereby screwing MJ out of BOTH the money AND the device. Yep, that makes you a theif. Seems pretty cut and dry. I guess when you get to YOUR age, little things like personal integrity, honor, honesty go right out the window.

First of all, junior, I requested that Magic Jack exchange my device, They ignored my request in the chat, the only way you can communicate with them. More importantly, however, the product IS NOT THE DEVICE! It is the service, and the service simply uses the device to go through their company's servers to make VOIP calls. Once I get the refund from my credit card company, my account with Magic Jack will be terminated and the device will not be able to make any phone calls. GET IT??

 So basically youre going to disput the charge AFTER you have the item thereby STEALING the Magic Jack unit. God I swear, self entitled much?? Did you ever think to just ask to send your defective unit in and get an exchange?? No probably not, its so much easier to STEAL then to follow the correct process. Magic Jack may have its issues but what you are talking about doing is THEFT!!! And you have the NERVE to post a negative review about them AND youre going to STEAL!! You sir are pure slime.

Instead of doing your part and just sending it back and getting a new one, you feel its perfectly alright to steal the item. People like you need to be taken behind the woodshed and whipped within an inch of your miserable existance. YOU are a prime example of WHY businesses are no longer flexable.

If someone did that to you, you would be going postal. But YOU seem to think its ok to do to others.
