I bought and paid up front for the Magic Jack 4 months ago and was very pleased with it for the first 2 and a half months than the system unit starting dropping calls and than all together failing . I would be on a call and talking to someone and the whole system would fail and disapear on desktop. I would have to unplug from USB port wait a few seconds and replug back in. I was not sure what was going on so got on MJ tech support. for the first time, and I was pleased with the help and was on with them for about 1 hour or so . Tech had me upgrade and try a few calls ,it seemed to be ok so left tech chat ....well next few days it happen agin so got back on with chat,same thing all over again run upgrade and they told me to delete my MJ file in control panel and they would rest on there end....ok did that tried a few calls and seemed to be ok for about a week.But in this week I was having static in phone and when phone would ring it did so with one long ring instead of 2-4 rings like normal and also started failing agin why on calls or making calls. so got on chat agin for the 3- and 4 th time. They told me to upgrade and I said I already did this 3 time and they said ok please do it agin and then set back clock to earlier time on PC did that to but still nothing not fixed,so agin got back on chat then they tried to say static was cause of my cordless phone and I said no I bought it brand new for the MJ and it is the same one I started with and never had this problem,as far as the Mj failing they was trying to say it was my PC and to try it on another PC. I said I have no other PC and I know it is not my PC cause it is only a 1 year old PC bought it new.

So now after 5-6 times on chat I told them I would like to return it for an exchange and they said ok let us send you an email with your RMA comfirmation # and we will Bill your creadit cart for the new one.......I said no.....no do not charge my card cause it will over draw my account and I can not afford that.So they said well they would send out new one with a hold on my card account until I return the old MJ and go ahead and send new one.I agreed ok ,but I could not even send old one back until they issued me the comfirmation #.So they said I would get the comfirmation email in 24-48 hrs. I said ok and left chat. 3 days and no email yet so got on chat and spoke with supervisor and he had told me the person whom took my order did not finish it and thats why I did not get the email ,so he said he would do it right away and would also be the person to look into the person whom failed to do his/hers job on this matter . He said once he sent the email I would get it in 1 hours and he woild also send out my new MJ the same day.Ok did get email same day in 2 hrs of last chat. So now I,m thinking I will get my new Mj in like 2 days like i did the first one and so I did not send my old MJ back until I got my new one cause sometimes it would work for a few calls but only like 1-2 min calls but enough to talk to my daught . Any I waited 5 days no new MJ then checked my emails and found one from MagicJack stating my credit card was declined so they could not send out my new MJ until I gave them a new card or added monies to my account.Well I decided ok I will just go ahead send the old one back which was11/02/2008 regular mail was fine last chat supervisor said . I had no money to send it UPS so regular postage is way I sent it. Now 5 days later and I got on chat 2 more times asking if they have gotten my return and both times they said when they get it I will get and email stating they did. I know they ahve gotten it cause I sent a package same day to diffrent location(Michigan) and they goot there package in 3 days. I even ask the chat supervisor I wanted to talk to some higher than her and she said I am the highest level in chat.I said ok did my return go to a home or buisness address,and she said buisness then I asked where she said Florida.

I ask where in fl. she said sorry can't give you that information.......I said why not I am the one buying and returning a product from your company and want to make sure the other person gave me the right address......so she went ahead and gave the address for west palm beach,fl. Then she said wait for the email and chat back with us tomorrow.

I sure don't know whats going on and when or if I get this new MJ product if it is gona do the same thing.I even told my sister about this product a month after I bought it so she bought one,now she is having same problem with hers. I was told bye tech chat one time it was there server system and they was working on the problem ,but all I know it looks like to me and from reading all the reports on the product most all of
them are failing shortly after using them a few weks or months so the product or there servers need to be upgrade or fix so we all can use what we paid for . This is my only phone system in my home and I was laid off from my job so I really do need and want to be able to use it. All I can say is that some of the tech chat was ok and some was very poor and never did fix the problem and don't think they really care if they do but someone better do something before it all blows up in there face.I am very unsatisfied with the product and the chat.
