I used to be an avid advocate of magicjack, a device that allows one to make phone calls through the internet. I have had three (3) magicjack phone numbers: 850725**** (Basic Magicjack), 850725**** (Magicjack Plus) and 850725**** (Magicjack Go). Both the Basic & the Plus connected through a USB to the computer while the Magicjack Go connected both to USB and by RJ45 directly to the router.

Sometime last May, 2015, the Magicjack Plus (850725****) developed a glitch right after I had just renewed it's service. After a lot of complaints and back and forth communications made with the company, they finally admitted that the device was unusable and refunded my renewal payment of $35.00.

In November, 2015, I renewed the services of my Magicjack Go (850725****) and kept on using it as usual without any trouble until the middle of January, 2016 when we had to dismantle my computer and its accessories which includes the Magicjack Go (850725****) in preparation for our move back to the Philippines. Said device was neatly packed in its original packaging and placed in one of our Balikbayan Boxes along with other boxes shipped through UMAC express cargo.

When the box arrived last April 7, 2016 at our Philippine address and I tried using the device Magicjack Go (850725****), it told me that it needed to be renewed. How can that be when I had just renewed it the previous November, 2015? I went online to magicjack.com and found out to my dismay that the phone number indicated on my account was 850725**** (Magicjack Plus)! Again, how can this be when magicjack management themselves concluded last May, 2015 that this device was already unusable and gave me a refund for the renewal fee of $35.00?

This was followed by a series of texting sessions online with various customer service representatives who all gave me the run around. One accused me of changing my own phone number (How could I do that when its done on their website by technical personnel?); another said I accidentally renewed the Magicjack Plus (Again, how can I do that when they themselves concluded that the device was no longer usable?) A girl named Aya or Asa gave me a Reference # 160504-000413) to be used in further calls regarding this problem. I think she just gave me the number just to get rid of me.

I also asked them if it was possible to transfer the service from Magicjack Plus (850725****) to my Magicjack Go (850725****) but they said no. I also asked that if they can't transfer the service from one number to another, then they should refund me for the remaining part of the service. Again, they said no. The last guy I talked to named Liam cut me off while I was still typing my answer to his last question. It is slowly dawning on me that they are just trying to get rid of me and are doing everything to stall until I get tired and stop complaining.
