I have been told by many people not to use this store but I never listened. I am a guitar teacher and professional musician. I spend a lot of money in this store and go in there every few days for something new. I send all of my guitar students there for their musical needs. In the past six months, between my students buying guitars there, myself buying things, I've probably given them a little over $1,000 worth of business. That's why it shocks me so much that they are so rude and don't mind losing me as a customer.
What happened was this: I asked them to order a specific guitar for me and a PA system. They said it should be in within a week or two.

After a month had passed and I had been asking every time I saw them, which was every 3 or 4 days, the manager (Nathan) kept saying "it isn't in yet." I asked about the PA system. He said, "What PA system?" He had forgotten to order it. So I brought him the information again on the PA I wanted on a sheet of paper. He put the paper to the side on the counter and said he would get to it when things slow down. I figured he lost the paper again because the next time I asked him about it, he had the same response, "What PA system?" I continued to ask about the guitar.

He would look at the computer and not punch any keys, just simply LOOK at the computer and go, "Nope. Not here yet." Now I know that if he was really checking, he would have to punch in some type of code or something. As many times as I asked, he never did that. He just looked blankly at the computer and said, "Nope."

After 2 months passed, I finally quit asking and they never brought it up either. I went to a different music store. They ordered it and it was in within a week. When I told the different store that I had ordered it through Magnolia Music 2 months ago, they laughed and said, "It never takes 2 months to get this stuff in. They're lying to you. They didn't order it." I wondered why they would do this, then it occurred to me.

They advertise that they will match "Musicians Friend" prices. (This is a catalog where things are sometimes $100 cheaper than the retail price.) These were expensive things I was ordering and he probably didn't want to give me the cheaper price on it. They will sell things for higher prices to people who don't know about their guarantee. I figured, if they don't want to match Musician's Friend prices, why advertise it? So the last time I was in there, the manager, Nathan, was out. I asked one of the workers named Adam, if he could check for me and see if Nathan actually did order the guitar. He said he didn't know how. He claimed he couldn't use the computer. ????? So I got angry and said, "I have a very strong feeling he never ordered the guitar at all. I already bought the guitar somewhere else." Adam said, "If you bought the guitar somewhere else, then there's no problem." I told him, "There IS a problem because Nathan said he was ordering this guitar for me and I wasted 2 months waiting on it, when he actually didn't order it at all." Adam said, "Well, he might have ordered it because he got some of those particular guitars in and have sold them already." I kept trying to impress upon them that this was not the point. Nathan was ordering the guitar and was going to notify me when it came in. Adam just kept saying, "I don't know." and shrugging his shoulders.

So I said, "Well, I spend a lot of money in here but from now on, I will be taking my business and my guitar students somewhere else." Adam said, "Okay, have fun!"
I've never seen such unprofessionalism in my life. The other Magnolia Music stores are great but I would definitly stay away from the one in Ocean Springs!
