Well I thought I was a smart buyer and did my research and have done business in India for 10 years but I got taken by swindles who lied and thought I was just another American who did not know what he was doing. I did check out there references and was only able to reach one of them and his report back was they were ok after we went through some rough starts at the beginning. I guess I should have pressed him further.

Sales guy Shubh was the biggest liar of them all and promised everything and right away and promised excellence and delivered crap. Promised to get started next day after payment was received when in fact it was weeks later and delivered a template web site and I was spending almost $5000 for this job and when I got a sample of their work I was furious to say the least. From there is was down hill. I demanded they send my $1700 deposit back after their first template and they refused and this went on for a month.

Finally the supposed owner calls me and offers me a $500 credit no refund. Now do I want a credit from an outfit that does terrible work and refuses to refund money when work is terrible(no Way) Just give me my money back.

The owner was a jerk (Vivek Merani) I honestly think they lied and said he was the owner and I think he is really the sales manager.

The end result is the next time I am in India I will file a report with the Indian Government but as of now I have no plans to go there but I do work there everyday with firms in India.

1. During our phase of seeking work for this job, we did mention the process to Gordon and the first step included getting a questionnaire filled out. For starters we sent the questionnaire to fill out for getting information about the brief of the web design requirement. We were given a response that the client had 'Arthritis' in his fingers and could not type out the questionnaire. Due to this we based our initial information gathering on the verbal communication rather than sticking to our process of getting a questionnaire filled out. We however have been archiving Skype chats with the client which proved that they could essentially type out information.


2. After repeated rounds of verbal briefing and information sharing we had been sharing homepage designs with the client. We had done 9 variations already. Further we also have an email from the client which approved our first design that was sent to him. For the last set of variations, we have got no feedback at all. We were at this stage told that the client was color blind and could not differentiate between colors. In this is the case we could not expect any approval of designs which were based on colors and themes.

3. We had already put in about 85 hours into the design process of creating which is what is our cost.

4. Further our company policy does not allow a refund of advances for a service where the work has been commenced. The client paid us the advance and knew that we were going to commence work as we had deadlines by the client. We run of a project management system and the hours of work are logged in there so if work has been done a project, means initiation of the project and involved resource (cost for us) allocation.

5. To try and salvage the situation we offered a credit of 20 hours which is in return for the unused time against your advance of $1750.

6. We also mentioned the client to share more designs with the client and work till the client was satisfied on the design front.

7. Our client testimonials can be seen on http://www.magnoninternational.com/testimonials.asp . We are a company with high repute and credibility. Our clients say this and we are encouraged to sever them better.

8. As for the quality of work we are listing out all of the 9 the design variations we shared with the client. It is for anybody to decide if these are actually terrible designs.

Our intention was always to server the client to the best of our ability. We have worked with over 1000 clients and have been able to service our clients and gain good references from them. This is a case which turned out to be unfortunate for us. We do wish the client the very best for all future endeavors.
