I have received letters regarding an ABC Distributing account that I have and two invoices that were supposedly "never paid." After trying to contact ABC Distributing on numerous occasions to correct this, I finally gave up and mailed them a copy of the letter sent to me along with the duplicate check that I received from the bank that was the payment for the invoices. I requested that someone contact me as well by telephone so that I could be sure this matter would be resolved. I never received a telephone call. I attempted on several occasions to call them but was unable to obtain anybody, the line was always busy.

Just recently I have found out that ABC Distributing has turned me over to an attorney by the name of Joseph Kaplan in regards to this entire matter ($33.92). I again, attempted to contact them by telephone and again, was unable to obtain anyone. I have mailed copies of the letters sent to me with copies of the check which paid the invoices. I no longer no what I can do. I have paid these two invoices, I have proof of that through my bank, and I am unable to speak with anyone to correct this matter. Now I and my credit have to suffer because ABC Distributing is an unorganized company with absolutely horrible service.

I was considering odering a catalog from ABC, but after reading some of these issues I am not sure. I do know that any online ordering comes with some drawbacks, and if you can't see touch or feel the item before ordering, the general rule of thumb is that you have to rely on the company(who is trying to get you to buy their product) to tell you about what you are ordering. That being said, some company ordering perks will allow you to "Hold shipment for full order" you have to specifically ask for this and there is no box to check online, so this option would have to be done by phone.

Most companies will answer a call to PLACE an order alot faster than a problem with one. They can usually tell by the option you choose on your call. And there was a comment on an 800 #-write it down-use it, if it works. This is the information highway, grab it and ride. Good luck with online ordering it will always have some drawbacks, but, you have to decide,how much is your convenience worth to you. To the person who is reporting to JAG, and is in the military, I am disappointed in my tax dollars being spent on your education. You are definately not "being all you can be" or they are still "looking for a few good men" I hope your friends did not read your report.

Thank you to this website for doing this. It gives the consumers a head's up on things that would otherwise be unknown to most. It's like an online consumer input version of Consumer Reports Magazine.

Another person who has been ripped off

Without going into details, I am fed up with ABC's complete lack of disregard regarding my account. This issue has been ongoing for well over a month now. I HAVE faxed them, and would only get "Communication Error" messages for FOUR days. I finally received another number to fax them at, as well as a supposed supervisor's name. I have faxed this working number FOUR times in the past 29 days as well, and still have not received a response. I have also tried calling them, to which I get an "All circuits are busy"; a busy signal; being on hold for 20 minutes and someone DISCONNECTING me...it's very very frustrating, to say the least. Not to mention the long distance charges that have to be paid to contact them.

And to the employee who is sticking up for them - I find it hilarious how you are defending their customer service while using the words "your an IDIOT" and "DUH!" By the way, it's "YOU'RE", not "YOUR". Your tone and wording proves exactly why people have the right to complain about the C/S of this crap company.

I do think they are a branch of LTD Commodities. They are very similar!!!

I have made a payment through epay and they said they did not get it even though it has gone through to my bank. I am sending off letters but after reading all the bad comments about customer service I am not hoping for much now.
I even called them and they told my husband that they did not get the EPAY amount so be warned here is another scam! DO not use Epay.

There is a person who lives in the route 1 Delbarton area who orders from your company religiously using a wide variety of other peoples names, company names, and different phone numbers. She is making lots of money by selling your products which she does not pay for. I do not know why you have not caught on to this by now. I have not witnessed, nor have I bought any merchandise but a lot of her family members and friends do. So you better pay close attention as it is holiday time and fed ex makes a heck of a lot of trips to her house. I do not wish to be named as it would cause a lot of trouble for me, but I do not think your company should be treated this way. The name you want to check into is angie browning, telephone: 304-475-4849. The address is route 1 box (I am not sure but its somewhere between 705-715, Delbarton, WV 25670. I am sure if you check invoices that are unpaid, you will find the correct address. I trust that I will not be identified as the one reporting this fraud. I just get sick of lazy people scamming good companies like you. happy holidays. I will keep in touch.

Yes, I would Like to state that I RECENTLY PLACED AN ORDER WITH Abc Distributing and they cancelled some of my orders and they put on hold some other ones because I HAVE A PAST DUE ACCOUNT.

I would like to know how that is if I BARELY VISITED THERE WEB-SITE. Can't understand that. Then I tried calling their number and for me to contact the operator to reach that number and I Did

the operator said how could I have trouble contacting that number I told her I called that number last night and the number went through find yesterday,

How could I HAVE TROUBLE NOW... I AM VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS THEN THEY GIVE ME AN ACCOUNT NUMBER AN FOR WHAT IT COMES UP INACTIVE TO LOG IN I PUT MY PASSWORD AND IT DOSEN'T WORK THAT IT'S THE WRONG PASSWORD.

SOMETHING IS REALLY MESSED UP WITH THAT COMPANY OR I AM GOING INSANE...............

First of all, I read alot of the disputes. I myself have had it with not being able to get a hold of customer service. However, if you FAX them something they will respond to you. This is what I had to do once. As for the woman that is screaming about ABC being a rip off..and a scam, they have been in business for years and years. They would have been closed down by now. Your credit cannot be affected by this in any way because you do not give your social security number to set up an account. The letters they send you are bluffs. There is nothing they can do except cut you off from ordering. Anything a collection agency sends you, YES will show up on your credit report ONLY if you gave them your SS #. Anything else is just trying to scare you into paying. ABC takes alot of loss from people ordering and not paying, setting up several accounts for several addresses. That is why they limit the order to $100 at first. Yes shipping costs are high...but like it says: IF YOU ORDER IN 3's THE COST IS LESS FOR SHIPPING. As for the ones complaining about quality...what do you expect for a few bucks? You get what you paid for, although I have ordered tons of stuff from ABC and the only thing I didn't like is the bathroom cabinet you have to put together and a graduation frame. Everything else was pretty good for the price. Hell, where else can you place a $100 order, receive the item and THEN pay for it? It's all how you see it!

I have ordered from ABC for many years now and have never had a problem except I feel that the shipping cost are a little high.

They have never failed to respond to any e-mail which is the only way that I have tried to contact them since everything went on line.

Everyone has bad experiences and they should let one little thing cause so much trouble. As far as them being rude, remember one thing, the person on the other end of the phone can pick up on your attitude.

I both agree and disagree with what I have been reading here. I have been a ABC customer for about 5 years, and I just "now" got hip to the shipping scam, the way they send 1 or 2 small things with a bunch of "air bag" fillers then send another box the same way and charge ridiculous amounts for shipping. On the other hand, I have had to call the so-called Customer Service Dept, and yes, I have had to wait at least 20+ minutes before speaking with someone, but I was able to actually talk to somone who- although had attidude did help me. So there 'are' people there, you just have to wait an eternity to get one on the phone. I just got a "Past Due" notice for merchandise I never received. So I called Fed Ex and they told me they recieved the boxes EMPTY !! So that is why I have not received my delivery. This is tha very same package that I got the Past Due bill for !!! I called them and spoke to somone who settled the problem to my satisfaction. My only other complaint would be that the shipping time is just a little ridiculous - it takes for-EVER ! I guess that's about it, I will most likely still purchase things from them as they do have some cute stuff, but like the person before, I won't buy furniture from them again, it's pretty cheap and flimsy.

Just a word of advice: shop at your own risk, overall I think it's a pretty good company, but what I don't get is why they have a Christian 'fish' symbol as there trademark, but yet treat their customers the way they do?!

Starting off, abc is a large company. It should be a little larger for C.S. but that's not the way the cookie crumbles, ya know. The first thing you need to understand is that the company produces 7-10 catalogs a year. That is a lot of differnet items. abc orders quite a bit of every item. After a few weeks of a catalog running the sales department re-orders merchandise to make it through the end of the catalog. If you think that you can order something in the middle of November out of the x-mas book, your an IDIOT. That catalog comes out at the end of July begining of August. So while you've been thinking about that item on page 248, the warehouse just shipped 1,000 of them out. Don't wait, when we say quantities are limited, QUANTITIES ARE LIMITED. DUH! Now the thing with the individaul boxes, sorry. The company sends out what they have in the system daily. So if you order 3 things, and one is in stock today, the other one gets here tomorrow, and the last one gets here in 2 days, sorry to tell you but your getting 3 packages. The system calculates everything. We cant change it from the Customer Service dept. Sorry. It's all bout timing. what am i kidding its all about luck. We do sell some really nice things at the best prices possible. The best time to reach the C.S. dept is between 8:40-11:30 a.m. EST or at 2:00-4:20 p.m. EST. That's when all of us are at the telephones at the same time. Or the other way is to send an e-mail if yoou cant reach the phone. Overall its an alright company to work for.

My experiance, treated me very poorly

I have ordered a couple of times from ABC. They actually do have a customer service department but they are hard to get a hold of (either busy or on hold). When I finally had my phone call answered the lady was rude. I was in fact about a billing inquiry, but she treated me very poorly. I had a product that was delivered broke and I had no trouble replacing it, they were very helpful with that situation. I do have an e-mail address to reach their customer service and while it does take a bit to get a reply they do get back to me. Back orders are a pain but as they say with such low prices their products are in high demand. I have not had multiple packages shipped to me, but I have only ordered small things. I think that they could get an 800 number to make things a lot easier on their clients, and I have to say that I am happy they now have it so you can pay online. Only drawback of that though is what if an item is on backorder?

I have used ABC on and off for about 5 years. I did not have problems until I statring shopping on line. If you're looking at an item on line that you might like, don't put it in your cart in less you really want it. Even though you remove it and it doesnt show on the final invoice, somehow they know you look at it and they will send it to you. I received $121.60 worth of stuff I removed form my shopping cart. And to return it you get to pay the shipping charges. Of course they count on you just keeping it.

I don't like that hey don't have an 800#. Howwever if you want to talk to someone, simply don't pay your bill they will call you.

You get what you pay for. If you buy an end table for 16.99 you get one worth 16.99. If you pay 200.00 its for the quality workmenship of a product that will last a life time.

The clothes run very small and are only OK. Abc does have alot of fun kids stuff and I will continue to shop with them, I just shop with caution.

I had problems in December with 5 orders that I placed with ABC. When I contacted them and explained that I had never received the items, they sent out a notice for me to sign stating that the items were never received and asked if I wanted the items to be resent. I had the items resent (via FedEx since the problem appears to have been with my local post office) and they were very helpful. I was on hold for approximately 8 minutes waiting on a customer service representative, but in the long run I was very happy with the way they handled my particular problem.

Ripped Off In Shipping Charges

I too am one of the many people that have been constantly ripped off by abc distributing when it comes to shipping. I beleive this is where they get their money back from charging such low prices on their items for sale.

I no longer order from them because of the fact they always ship one or two items and the shipping cost is alwys more then the item itself. Why is it they can not get more items in a box instead of filling it with catalogs and bubble pack?

Calling does no good unless you have no life and can sit and hold for hours waiting for a customer service rep to come on the line.

I have found it is cheaper in the long run to go to a dept store and pay a few dollars more which is sad because I have always been pretty happy with the items I do order from abc, but the shipping charges are breaking me.

If it will make anyone fell happy i have had the same problem with ltd. makes me wonder if they are owned by the same people!

I've had good and bad

I am a fairly happy ABC customer. I have been ordering from them for about 10 years off and on and have never had any problems with them. As with anything you order from a catolog you will always take a chance on something being worth what you paid for it. I have had to return items 4 different times, because I did not feel it was what I paid for it or was damaged, I have always been able to get ahold of someone and have been able to return that item. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. The only complaint I would have is the shipping of separate orders and the shipping expense. I do believe that they could do a better job of shipping more of the order instead of dividing it up so much. I will continue to order from ABC, until they do something that I am not happy with.

MISPLACING PAYMENTS, WAITING ON THE PHONE FOREVER

I AGREE WITH THE MAJORITY OF THE COMPLAINTS, I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH ABC FOR 10 YRS, AND THE SO CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH WAITING ON THE PHONE FOREVER TO TALK TO SOMEONE AND ALSO GET REPEAT BUSY SIGNALS FOR DAYS. IF YOU DO TALK TO SOMEONE THEY ARE VERY RUDE,ENGLISH IS POOR. AND TREAT YOU LIKE YOU ARE LYING. OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH ABC IS PAYING THE BILL BUT THEY NEVER PUT IT IN THE ACCOUNT. THEY LOSE IT OR WHATEVER THEN THEY SEND YOU INVOICES THAT YOU ARE PAST DUE. WHEN YOU CALL AND IS LUCKY TO GET SOMEONE THEY DON'T TRY TO HELP THEY TELL YOU TO LOOK AGAIN,CHECK WITH THE BANK OR REPAY. BUT WHAT REALLY PISSED US OFF AND CAUSED THEM TO LONGER GET OUR BUSINESS IS, WE PAYED OFF OUR ACCOUNT, A "MONTH" LATER THEY TRIED TO RUN A CHECK THROUGH THAT HAD BOUNCED,AND LONG AGO HAD BEEN CLEARED UP. WILL INSTEAD OF SENDING THE GIRL HER CHECK THEY KEEP IT AND TRIED TO COLLECT PAYMENT ON IT EVEN THOUGH THE ACCOUNT SHOWED ZERO. THEN TRIED TO LIE TO HER AND TELL THEY DIDN'T DO IT. WHEN CLEARLY THE BANK SHOWS THEY DID. THE MERCHANDISE IS GOOD, THEIR PEOPLE SKILLS SUCK!!!

Problems with ABC Distributing

I have been buying from ABC Distributing for about 3 years now. I also have a problem with their Customer Service. When you call to check on an order, you always get a busy signal. I usuall get tired and just hang up. I agree with other people about the shipping charges. Even though their prices are relatively low for the product, you end up paying more for it by the time they ship it out because they send out 1-2 items at a time instead of the whole order. They compensate for this by saying that other items has been placed on back-order so it can't be shipped out at the same time. And, sometimes it doesn't matter if you order as soon as you get the catalog, items are still backordered.

Both their customer service needs to improve and they need to stock their shelves better to prevent the back-order problem.

I have had the same problems as well, the shipping the notifying me that my payment is past due when I had already sent it in. I have also sent countless emails and had gotten no responses but they will send me their catalogue through my email. The best way to contact them is first thing in the morning. This is how I have been able to speak to someone. The fellow that I spoke to was very nice and helpful. But a few days later when I had gotten everything straightned out I thought, I then rec'd another notice of due payment. So just try to contact them when they fist open and Good Luck>

I have been dealing with ABC for a few years and I have repeatedly had problems. There MUST not be a customer service dept. I too have tried as recently as today to get intouch with them ; as I have been trying to do by e-mail & phone for the past month. I have also faxed their customer service dept. manager to no avail.

I will no longer be doing any business with this company and I highly suggest to anyone who is considering it to reconsider. Money is hard enough to come by with out throwing it away on a company who thinks this highly about their customer base.

THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH ABC DISTRIBUTING AT ALL IT IS A VOICE MAIL ONLY THAT ALLOWS YOU TOO THINK THAT THERE IS WHY ISNT THERE A 1-800 NUMBER THINK ABOUT THAT I ORDERED FROM THEM 1 TIME AND NEVER WILL DO AGAIN. THEY SUCK...........THERE SHIPPING CHARGES ARE MORE THAN THE DAMMMMMM MERCHANDISE. I THINK WHEN YOU RUN A BUSINESS YOU SHOULD HAVE THE #1 CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT ABC DOESNT AT ALL. THE PEOPLE ON HERE THAT ARE SAYING THERE IS. THERE WRONG BECUASE THERE ISN`T THEY HAVE SENT NUMERSOUS THINGS OUT TO CUSTOMERS STAING THAT WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH OUR PHONES ......... I love to order things from abc distributing, but I do feel like it is a rip off. I hate the way they send you one or two items of your order at a time. I know they just do it so that they can make more money off of shipping and handling. I received a letter stating that I have overpaid an invoice and then the next week I recieved a bill in the mail saying the same invoice had not been paid. I know that i paid this invoice and indeed had overpaid and had received a credit, so why did I receive a bill after getting a credit to my account. I went ahead and paid the bill and I will not be ordering from them in the future.

Mixed results

I've been an ABC customer off-and-on for about 10 years, with mixed results. Their products range from great to complete crap - I like their candleholders and other knick-knacks, but I'll never order furniture from them again. My advice:

They have many cute items in their catalogs, but don't be surprised to find the item you want on backorder or even cancelled outright. If what you want looks like an especially good deal, get the order in ASAP. If the item is a present for someone and/or you need it in a hurry, I would recommend buying it somewhere else.

Keep your order small. On large orders they will usually send it in multiple shipments. They make a killing on S&H charges this way, and you could end up paying double for the order as a result.

Got a problem? Forget calling - it's nearly impossible to get through. So far I've had one billing dispute with ABC, and that was satisfactorily resolved by email. The only other way to go is by snail mail.

I along with a few of my close freinds all shop online with ABC Distributing. None of us have had any "complaints". If we did have a "complaint" it would be that they can't seem to keep items off of backorder. Which is an inconvenience to some people but if you are willing to order then you should be willing to wait a couple of extra weeks. Nevertheless we enjoy the prices, quality, and variety of the merchandise.

ABC is NOT a rip-off

I have dealt with ABC Distributing for over 10 years. They have sent merchandise that has been better than described almost every time.

I use their catalogs to select gifts for my friends and family for special occations and I have received nothing but praise for the beautiful gifts my friends and family have received.

I have a house with many items from ABC that I am proud to show off -- their customer service has been good to deal with and, while the wait time many be 5 minutes or more, I've never waited more than 10 minutes and my problem gets resolved immediately.

THEY ARE WONDERFUL and supply cost-effective, quality merchandise -- I usually buy more than $500 per month or more and am not disappointed!

While I don't discount those customers with complaints, I can say I have had a good experience with ABC. Orders are prompt and complaints have been handled for me. I called once because an unassembled wooden shelf was split at the screw hole. I did not even have to return the item and they gave me a refund or offered to send a replacement.

If I had any "complaint" against the company, it would be sending multiple shipments of a large order which results in additional shipping costs, but that could be the case with any company.

I am a satisfied ABC Distributing customer.

I AGREE! I BELIEVE THAT ABC DISTRIBUTING IS A SCAM AS WELL, AND DOES NOT HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH W/ FELLOW CLIENTS AND EMPLOYEES OF OTHER COMPANIES THAT HAVE ORDERED FROM ABC. I HAVE COME TO REALIZE, AS WITH MY OWN EXPERIENCE AS WELL, THAT EVERYONE NEVER GETS TO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN CALLING THEIR CS LINE. AND IF THEY DO, THEY ACTUALLY HAD TO WAIT AT THE LEAST, 1HR!

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE COMPANY HAS BEEN VERY HECTIC! I ORDERED SHIPMENT ON JULY THE 2ND, AND THEN CALLED THEM ON JULY THE 5TH TO CANCEL MY ORDER AND DELETE MY ACCOUNT DUE TO COMPLAINTS THAT I'VE HEARD THROUGH FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS. AND OF COURSE, I NEVER REACHED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT.

AFTER HOLDING 45MIN EVERYDAY FOR 5 DAYS, SO I TRIED FAXING THEM A LETTER. FINALLY I RECEIVED A FAX CONFIRMATION, SO I KNOW THEY GOT MY REQUEST! ONE MONTH ROLLS BY, AND I RECEIVED A BOXED SHIPMENT FROM THEM, SO THEN AGAIN I FAXED THEM W/ A LETTER AND RECEIVED, AGAIN, A FAX CONFIRMATION STATING THAT THE FAX WAS SENT SUCCESSFULLY! IT IS NOW SEPT. THE 24TH, AND I AM STILL RECEIVING SHIPMENT THAT I HAVE ASKED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THEM TO CANCEL 2MO AGO. AND STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ANYONE'S VOICE AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. AS WELL!

AS FOR SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS I'VE RECEIVED ARE: (AS WELL AS MINE TOO)
THEY SEND ALMOST EVERYTHING IN SEPERATE BOXES, SO INSTEAD OF PUTTING YOUR ORDER OF SAY $50.00 IN ONE BOX AND HAVE A $6 SHIPPING CHARGE, YOU WOULD HAVE A 4.95 ITEM SHIPPED SEPERATLY AND IT WOULD END UP BEING 9.95. IN THE END YOU WOULD HAVE A $30 IN SHIPPING CHARGES! (THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED TO EVERYONE, BUT 90% PERCENT OF PEOPLE I TALKED TO SAID IT HAS HAPPENED TO THEM)

ALSO, IF YOU'VE EVER SEEN THE CATALOGS, THEY ARE BIG THICK BOOKS, AND A LOT OF TIMES THEY WILL STICK THOSE IN THE BOXES TO UP THE COST OF SHIPPING! WHICH I KNOW THEY KNOW YOU HAVE THE CATALOG, CAUSE THEY SEND ONE BY MAIL EVERY MONTH TO EVERY CUSTOMER!
