A man came to my door and started telling me a story. He said he had four daughters and used to be an engineer and was laid off. He claimed his wife died 8 months ago, and then something distracted him, and changed his answer to 7 months ago. He also said his friend tried to kill him and shot him 8 times, and showed me an indent on his skull claiming that was from a bullet. He then proceeded to try to sell me books that he claimed were going to a group home to help kids. He even asked me what my profession was and why I was interested in his cause. I tried to turn him away, but he was very persistent and made me nervous. I didn't want to cause I scene, so I paid for the cheapest option by check, which was $230!

As soon as he got my check, he left no problem. Knowing that couldn't possibly be the cheapest option, and noticing that by the way the point system worked (he earned points based on sales) that it was a pyramid scam, once he finally left my house I immediately looked it up and sure enough it is a scam. I put a Stop Payment on my check and called my bank immediatlely, as well as took money out of my savings to make sure they couldn't take my money. I have read multiple similar stories on the internet so please be on alert for these people! The company is based in Arizona, but I see that they have people here in San Diego all the way to Massachusetts.
