This company when they prepare quotes they add a mark up of 100% to material then they add another markup charge to the material. In addition if they prepare a quote that states 4 hrs labor they will add another 4-5 hours on top. This company does this to CVs, Walmart,Ross, Kangaroo stores, Disney, and many apartment complexes in Tampa area. Beware....

I read my prior comment and noticed that I had accidentally stated that MaintenX is a customer of ours. It is actually the opposite. We are a customer for MaintenX. I am a Facilities Manager for a 1500+ store retail chain that is centralized in the Eastern United States. MaintenX is our number one vendor in the region, and has been for the past 5 years. Once again, we have never had any problems with their billing in the past. MaintenX has only proven to be a very beneficial, cost-efficient maintenance provider for our company.

I prefer not to present my last name, for in my line of work you receive many calls from potential vendor's. I look on ripoffreport every now and then the assess whether or not it might be safe to bring on a new customer. Today I decided to take a look at the profiles of some current customers, and that is when I came across the postings for MaintenX. I am not here to say whether or not the facts brought forth in the prior postings is true or not, but I can definitely say that for the past 5 years my company has worked with MaintenX, and we have not had any unresolved issues with billing. We actually use their pricing as a guideline for when we might bring on a new vendor. Just my two cents.

My name is Rick not Dennis

Many years ago I worked for MaintenX. My name is Rick and I use to be an ARC. I bailed out Greg Hunters butt many times. I did not use my real name because I know the nature of Pat O'Hara. I was not happy with the way they billed. I was terminated just before getting benefits. I did contact CVS and Kangaroo store corporate offices and let them know about how they bill. Walmart I did not think of. I am a professional with the State of Florida in Safety and Inspections an may need to pay an unscheduled visit. i love playing games

It is not just the Administration. . .

AUTHOR: Chris Brooks - (United States of America)

Dennis, I worked in the call center for MaintenX, and I can verify your story. However, I can't demonize the people that do those things, for a very simple reason. The ARCs and the billing lady are under huge pressure. The arcs are constantly overloaded with work, and then threatened on almost a daily basis that if they do not improve and work harder, they will be fired. Burn-out is very fast there. The lady who does the billing has to go home after work and bill for another 10 hours a day just to keep up, or she is threatened. They have a certain dollar mark they have to hit, or they all get called into the conference room to be chewed out about how bad of a job they are doing. I only remember that thursdays were the safe days.

Yes, they mark up the prices, big time. The reason they can do this is because most of their clients dont have huge administrations to go through each invoice. They take special advantage of that because theres no real industry standard for how they bill. If they get caught in one place, then they just take it out on another client. This is why individuals dont use them.

There were good things about that company, but i really think it had alot more to do with who in charge that day was using alcohol or not. when i got fired from maintenx because of poor performance, they didnt stop there. they called my other job, the answering service i worked at that is a client for maintenx and threatened them to fire me or lose their business. honestly, do you really want to work with people like that?

the place is a turn-and-go employer. no one can ever seem to do a good enough job unless they are working 10 hours outside the office hours, which comes up to being paid about less than minimum wage. they are all scared to complain, because if they complain they are fired on the spot. it is a terrible, harrassing place to work.

if maintenex doesnt use bad business practices, why dont you offer up a database of your invoices? certainly maintenex has NOTHING to hide in their billing practices, so this wouldnt be a porblem for them. and i am sure that something like, plunging a toilet to unstop it, isnt a huge industry secret for you.

and i cant say this for sure, but there was a rumor that the cfo cooked the books a little bit to make up his wages. it was probably just some drunk talk at a bar in orlando, but it was said.

i dont care honestly, but if you are really that concerned about it, you can call the corporate offices of cvs and walmart and tell them what you know. walmart will act on it in a heartbeat, because they dont put up with that stuff. cvs probably not, like i said they have no real knowledge about what is being done to them, and it isnt like its affecting all cvs stores everywhere.

good luck dennis, im sorry we both had to work there.

The Truth.

AUTHOR: I KNOW - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Here are some of the ways they are ripping customers off.

1) The ARC's (Area resource coordinator) are calling and checking the techs "in" as "on site" (which is when they start charging)prior to the work ever being started.

2) materials billed to a customer for a job. the leftovers will be used on another job and charged again the the customer as "Truck Stock" And there are always leftovers. buying  too much material is a common practice.

3) "Truck Stock"  $10 for 2 screws is common.

4) ARC orders wrong part. Customer is still billed and Maintenx keeps the free part and usually bills the customer again when it is used.

5)Re-calls. (warranty work) Techs are instructed to "Find something else wrong, make sure it's not a re-call, blame it on another vendor."  so the customer can be charged.

6) Techs are instructed to replace completely good parts for no good reason. e.g. rebuilding toilets, Snake a drain line for nothing, etc, etc.

7) even during orientation. While you are in Tampa for "training", you are taught to do unnecessary repairs as to maximize the company's profits.

And on the subject of Company profits, The employees do not see a dime extra for dedication, hard work. Actually, the bonuses go to the ARCs. Who themselves have no idea how to do the work. the higher ups line their pockets with the hard work of the lowly worker ants.

Sorry Patrick.  The jig is up.. truth hurts doesn't it?

Beware?

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 03, 2009

Dennis. Here it is June 2009. You cried about this way back then. Do you honestly think these companies would still be doing business with Maintenx if there was something wrong with their billing practices?

Termination of Jobs and Lawsuits

AUTHOR: Dennis - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 02, 2007

MaintenX has a habit of firing qualified people that work for them and putting people into these positions that have no clue of what they are doing. They currently have 5 people suing the company for termination of jobs, not paying wages due to employees, terminating health insurance coverage weeks before firing a person. They had to bail out their sister company
Mandalay development to the tune of 1.2 million. they are not doing too well themselves
