I just moved my children and 75 year old mother to Burbank, CA from Michigan.  I googled moving companies and was pursued by Majestic Movers relentlessly offering best price and above all else, best customer service from "family-owned, professional" moving company.
 
Didn't show up when scheduled to pick up.  Called late that night and we rescheduled.
 
August 28th:Picked up all belongings, didn't leave any paperwork or sign anything.
 
Two days later received a phone call and email with invoice for Double the amount quoted.  CASH had to be wired or placed directly into their bank account.  Several phone calls where I was put on hold in excess of an hour, no answers other than, Mandy who told me "pay it or never see your stuff again."
 
Sept. 1:  Spoke with Manager, Christina, she would order my paperwork with inventory of what they picked up and find out why price doubled and would get back with me by end of day or 1st thing next morning.  Have not heard from her or been able to reach her since.
 
I called every day to be put on hold, disconnected or just put into voice mail.  I made complaints to police dept, BBB, Attorney General, FMSCA and contacted an attorney, no one could me immediate assistance.
 
September 6:  Desperate for my belongings, I paid CASH into their account.  Called and emailed copies of receipts and again, no answer. Mandy told me she couldn't reach accounting, they were out for the day, unable to get a response from dispatch and that she would try to find out and call me back.  Never happened. 
 
I made phone calls and emails every day and no answers.  I moved into an empty house with my 2 children and 75 year old mother.  We are living with plastic silverware, paper plates.  I've had to purchase blankets, pillows, towels, pot and pans, beds, etc just to survive but I can't do this anymore.  I don't have the money since I already had to pay them $4500 CASH.
 
In doing further research, I see I am not alone in this scam.  Some people do finally get their belongings but missing a lot and/or broken...
 
I have never felt so helpless, they need to be exposed for the crooks they are and I would give anything to have my belongings and be able to put a home together again for my family.  This has taken such a toll on us living across the country with no one to help.
