Numerous English Bulldogs, over 40 dogs total living in filthy, cramped conditions. I have physically been to this address more than once and have seen the poor condition some of these animals are in.

One pup I personally took from there was so crippled in his back legs from being crammed in a cage, he could not run and his hocks lay flat against the ground from muscle contracture.

Bakersfield easily climbs above 100 degrees in the summer and these heat-intolerant bulldogs suffer outside with no cooling remedies. I have seen breeding bitches and the one stud listed on her site as "Sir Jughead" and they were covered with flies and open sores and the skin between their toes was split open from interdigital cysts.

Alice White Malson and her husband Donnie do not have AKC paperwork in any type of order and dogs are sent off with incorrect papers. They had more than 30 puppies at one time and could not keep their story straight about who they were out of and what their whelp date was. Pups simply are not the heritage that is claimed and they should in no way be bred.

Alice recently lost a lawsuit in Kern County over health-related problems with the bulldogs she sells. She is also involved with several other bulldog breeders in Bakersfield and they frequently assist one another in breeding and sales.

Malson's Bulldogs in Bakersfield, California = puppy mill.

I am not a complainer- Just a victim of Colvin and So Cal Bulldogs - Read below

AUTHOR: RHFbiz - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, September 08, 2011

I bought a $ 2500 puppy from Mr. Colvin in 2008. He was delivered just less than 7 weeks old (earlier than most reputable breeders).Within 2 years he developed severe epilepsy. I contacted Mr. Colvin at that time and he could care less because it passed their 1 year warranty.

November 2010 our pup developed severe cluster breakthrough seizures (over 15 in 2 hours) and we rushed him to the ER. We then transferred him to a special neurological facility where he spent 2 weeks in intensive care. At the end of treatment for this episode we spent over $ 7500 not including his home meds which cost about $ 60/month. Besides this episode we had already spent over $ 1000 on his condition. After getting him back it took over 3 months of intensive critical rehab at home to see some signs of his original personality. After 6 months he got back to about 90% of his normal self. Since that episode we had to crate him and wake up daily at 2 and 5AM because he lost his house broken abilities. On Sept 2nd we noticed that he became very lethargic and wouldn't eat anything. We immediately took him into the ER. He was diagnosed with a huge tumor on his liver which the Vet felt it was probably cancerous. Even if it wasn't cancer the cost to remove the tumor would be $ 2500 in addition to the $ 1000 we spent for his diagnosis.

We were forced to put him down this weekend. He was 4 1/2. Our family is devastated because our dog was one in a million.

I would not recommend this breeder. Stay away. They profess health over size and show quality but in reality it is all about the Money. I have called Colvin 3 times and no response. I have other purebreeds from reliable breeders and they call me to see how their pups are doing. In fact one breeder makes you sign an agreement to give their pup back if for any reason you do not want to keep them. Coolvin sells and hides

Malson Bulldogs is now blackgoldbulldogs

AUTHOR: Larry - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 03, 2011

Malson Bulldogs is now doing business as blackgoldbulldogs.com they moved from California to Georgia and are now selling puppies for $6000 instead of $1500. I think everyone needs to know that they are still scamming people, but now it isn't $2000 they are asking for a puppy, it is $3500-$6500. They changed their website and names, when you call on the phone you speak with Alison and Don Edward is who everything is sent to, which his real name is Don Malson and she is Alice Malson.

Good experience wtih Malson Bulldogs

AUTHOR: Vintagegadog - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 11, 2009

We got our wonderful bulldog Georgia from Alice Malson in 2002. She is AKC registered and as my vet here in Athens GA, the heart of Bulldog country, said "very well bred". Our girl is one of the finest female bulldogs our vet has ever seen. She is well tempered and just a fun little clown. Loves children, yet true to bulldog standards will cause a visitor to pause before entering. I have contacted Alice on several occasions over the past 7 years to ask questions or just share how much we love our bully. She has always been available to me when I wanted to contact her for whatever reason. She loves her dogs and truly cares about the puppies. I can not believe any of these allegations. My experience with Malson's Bulldogs has been a wonderful experience and will get another bully from them when the time is right, providing she is still a breeder.
Best regards, VintageGAdog

We love our Bulldog from Malson's

AUTHOR: Perezfamily - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 17, 2008

We purchased our female bulldog from Malson's in February of 2004. She is so awesome - very cool temperment, healthy, & beautiful! Red & white, about 55 lbs... We had no problems w/ AKC registration because we just wanted a family pet & were not interested in breeding, so we didn't request the papers. Our vet has even commented on how great her breathing is, she has none of the respiratory problems so often associated w/ bulldogs. She does have slight skin allergies, but we got another bulldog from a totally different breeder, who also has skin allergies. Our vet said it's a common problem w/ bulldogs. If you are looking for a family pet w/ a great temperment, I would highly recommend Malson's. Our friend who pet sits for us is so impressed by her he is interested in purchasing his own from Alice!

Bad experience with Malson Bulldogs too

AUTHOR: Stacy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 30, 2005

I went to the Malsons in Bakersfield and they did not let me past the back part of the house where all the dogs are living. Why would they want to hide this? They had about 20 puppies in small portable exircse pens and the ones who were defecating had runny stool. Alice gave me a packet of white pills in a ziplock baggie to give to my puppy and said it would help with the runny stool. She also gave me a baggie of dog food that she said the puppies were used to and when I got home, the food had worms in it.

Alice told me she would mail me papers for my puppy because they had not arrived yet to her. I have never received them and she won't return my e-mails.

There are too many females listed on her web page. Why does anyone need that many female dogs unless they are running a puppy mill?? All of them live outside in cages behind the house and I was not allowed to see any of them. Alice said the mother to my puppy was not on the property. Then where was she??! My puppy was probably only 4 - 6 weeks old when Alice sold it so one would think it was still nursing, RIGHT?? She has pictures on her web page of all those female dogs so how come you cannot see ANY of them??

This is not an honet woman and she is not doing the right thing.

I think it's pretty obvious it's Alice herself writing how honest she is.

There's a lot of HONEST bulldog breeders out there so stop buying over the internet or when these sellers won't even let you see the conditions these dogs are living in.

I believe 100% I bought my puppy from a puppy mill and I hate myself for it. I have learned my lesson.

Don't believe a word of it !!

AUTHOR: Seth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 28, 2005

I also bought two puppies from Malsons Bulldogs. I am interested in a third and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I bought my first one four years ago and my second one two years ago. I went to her home BOTH TIMES. I personally saw her dogs. They are healthy and beautiful. My dogs have been in excellent health and I can't go anywhere without people stopping me and telling me how beautiful they are. I recommend them to people that ask and I will continue to recommend them. When I first saw this post last year, I did call Animal control in Bakersfield. I spoke with an oficer D. Benson. She told me that she has been to Malsons Bulldogs several times and there was no truth to it. They have not been cited for anything. She also told me that it gets over 100 degrees there during the summer and it is not possible for the dogs to be kept like that or they would die. She even specifically said that her dogs were very social.I would think they would have citations if there were any truth to this. I also called the DA's office and they have never even heard of her. Instead of accepting these things at face value, people should do a little research! I agree, I think these are habitual complainers. Anyone interested in seeing the two that I got from her is welcome to e-mail me.

instead of casting judgement down on people who pay for their animals, you should focus on what this thread is about - an active puppymill.

AUTHOR: Anna - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 28, 2005

Nicole, I'm thinking perhaps instead of casting judgement down on people who pay for their animals, you should focus on what this thread is about - an active puppymill. What's more atrocious to you, someone paying $1500 for a puppy or someone selling as many puppies as they can for $1500 each?

Tom, you said yourself that you've never been to Malson's property. I have. I think I'm in a position to speak with some authority on this matter.

I was also instrumental in taking part in a successful lawsuit filed against Malson's Bulldogs. She lost, Tom. There was a reason for that. I have personally been to the vet office where Alice has her bitches taken in for invitro insemination and also the c-sections of the many many puppies she produces - over forty in one week, Tom. The lawsuit took a lot of time, a lot of papers served and a lot of subpeonas. I'm thrilled you've been relatively trouble free with your dogs. A lot of others have not been so blessed and have had to put pups to sleep or are still paying enormous vet bills.

Malson's Bulldogs is a puppymill. I see it as a personal victory that there's one lawsuit won in Kern County against Alice Malson and the fact that there's now complaint after complaint after complaint being documented on the Internet.

How can you buy an animal?

AUTHOR: Nicole - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 16, 2005

First, I would like to say that no, I am not some freaky animal rights activist. Next, how can you justify PAYING for an animal. They are living creatures. You wouldn't breed, buy and sell you children (or would you?). I used to work for a local Humane Society. We got plenty of certified pure breds. Next time you want an animal, get one from you local shelter. Save their lives, and make yourselves feel good at the same time.

Thanks for listening. I expect nasty retorts from you in response to this and will be sincerely shocked if I get none.

NOT AN HONEST BREEDER!

AUTHOR: Erik - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 16, 2005

My wife and I purchased a brindle male from Alice in August of 2003 for $1500. We have yet to receive the AKC paperwork she had promised. We found her website through the Pets4U.com breeder referral page. She seemed like a reputable and experienced breeder. After going through a series of questions over the phone, we drove to her home in Bakersfield to complete the transaction. When we asked to see where the dam and puppies were kept, she reasoned that she did not want to cause any undue stress to the dam and to another litter held there as well. This sounded like a valid excuse at the time. She had her children bring about 5 puppies from the same litter to us. We chose our Sir Barkley and paid for him in full. When asked about the contract, she responded that her printer had run out of ink and that she would be mailing it to us by the next day. She apologized profusely and after further discussion, we found no reason for alarm. She also stated that we would be receiving his AKC registration papers in a week. She gave us her contact information, instructions on caring for our new family member, vitamins, and a bag of his food with the number to its distributor.

We called after a week and a half because we had not received the contract or the AKC paperwork. She told us that there was an illness in the family and that all of the paperwork was sent out just a few days prior. We should be expecting it in about a day or so, we were told. After months of trying to get his registration papers, we finally gave up. She has lied to us time and time again. We contacted the AKC directly and from them, discovered that SHE ONLY HAD ONE LITTER REGISTERED in her entire tenure as a breeder. SHE NEVER INTENDED ON SENDING US HIS AKC PAPERS--SHE NEVER HAD THEM TO BEGIN WITH!

Needless to say, we are ashamed that we had been so naive. We consoled ourselves on having a beautiful bulldog. Sir Barkley is 55 lbs, active, and healthy. He did have 2 operations for Cherry eye within 3 months of each other, but has recovered since. I wasn't aware of the filthy living conditions of her kennel until I read the complaint. We love our Barkley, but WE WOULD ADVISE STRONGLY AGAINST DOING BUSINESS WITH ALICE WHITE.

malsons bulldogs are the best

AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, November 27, 2004

I purchased two bulldogs from Alice Malson and they were both top-notch. The first "Sir Charles" is a fawn, 69 pound, solid muscle brute with a perfect bulldog body.He was the largest male in the litter. He was $1,500.00. My second dog, Vinny Handsome, is a show quality white bulldog that was purchased from Alice for $2,800.00. The vet told me that we have a perfect "poster" bulldog -- He is "awed" over any where we take him. However, Vinny did have some eye problems upon arrival in Chicago, we notified Alice and my veterinarian immediately. Upon his outcome, Alice gladly paid the entire veterinarian bill. I don't know what conditions are at the Malson Bulldog Ranch; but most people that are "bad mouthing" her and her litters are probably habitual complainers.I chose malson bulldogs because they look the best and you get what you pay for.I would buy another english bulldog from her without hesitation. sincerly:

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Contact local animal control and the District Attorney's office.

AUTHOR: S.n. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 09, 2004

If there is a Bulldog Rescue in the area contact them as well. If this place is shut down they will be the ones getting the call to take the dogs that have been abused. If these dogs are being sold as registered purebreds contact the AKC and tell them what is going on here.
