The people will act "nice" (good front) to get you to place your loved one in their facility. Then once you are there long term care wise, the treatment changes drastically. "Familiarity breeds contemp." The orderlys start to take advantage of you. They take your personal items like deodorant, personal soap, body lotions, facial tissues. Personal nursing supplies bandgages, colostomy bags.

Response to nurses call button varies between 25 minutes to 2 hrs. This is when floor is unattended (2 hrs wait).
2nd floor is roach haven. The CNA's sneek into one's room while you are alseep and take things. Medications do not come on time and sometimes they just do not show up at all.

Medical treatments are rarely performed, so the person can get re-infected. Transportation to appointments are grudgenly taken care of and then at the last minute. Sometimes they do not show up at all. So you would either miss your appointment or the doctors will no longer see you because of "no show" due to transportation problems.

Predjusticeness on the LPN's parts that they either do not want to work with females, people with "darker skin tones." CNA made a comment that they wished "the roof will fall in and kill all the negros." When the cath broke, patient was left 10 hrs one time in bed full of urine and 14 hrs another time. People falling out of their beds/chairs at least once a day.

Phone maintenance or equiptment maintenance is not a priority unless you are fair (WASP). Management had to order the maintenace repair guy to repair phone for a patient after request was made by patient for 30 days straight

Food is awful. Egg salat sandwiches, chicken salat sandwiches and sometimes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner. Food allergies are ignored.
For the price of $90K every 7 months and $60K for meds alone. Family has to also pay $10K a month to medicade with the insurance covering some: you would expect better care and food!
