This company has been forced to try to increase its sales through forcing every singles sales executive in every single office at least in North America and most likely globally to use fake made up deceptive urgency story. By this I mean the rep will always always say that the only reason she is able to call you is because one of their existing clients either became insolvent (went out of business) or has a date conflict, and now has been forced to forfeit their deposit (of approximately $10,000) and now they are interviewing a small select handful of appropriate companies in your industry niche with your exact expertise to take over their client's schedule of 30 prequalified face to face meetings AND also get to apply the forfeited deposit towards the booking of the next company who books on. So they hook you with a made up rare discount opportunity that you think "other clients of theirs did not have the opportunity to take advantage of", which is wrong. At the same time, this urgency forces your buying decision to be an emotional impulse decision because the sales rep will actually tell you that if you want to take the meetings then you will have to set up a call back later that day or the very next day within 24 hours. They get you to do this by deceptively lying claiming to already have scheduled calls with your competitors who are already very very interested in taking the final block of meetings.

The scam is still going on!
AUTHOR: Josh - (USA)

Nothing has changed in decades. Marcus Evans was and still is and always be a ripoff scam.
Their founder CEO Mr. Marcus Evans has an Interpol arrest warrant outstanding in his name as well as 10 other of his "executives".
Management abuses new hires and uses them to generate leads which are then passed off to the managers who make the ales steal the commission and then fire the sales execsutives. It is a pyramid scheme.
New York Chicago San Diego Ft Lauderdale every office is run the exact same way.

Marcus Evans Doesnt care
AUTHOR: Duke - (South Africa)

Marcus Evans knows whats happening in his company and doesnt care. He makes millions off his clients and as far as how they operate, thats how the staff get trained. In order for it to stop he needs to be arrested, stand trial, his company closed down and when found guilty put into a rat infested hole to rot.

I left my computer on & somebody used it to post this rebuttal - I have no comment on Marcus Evans & would like my nickname & address deleted, indeed the entire rebuttal deleted, post haste. I have no idea about any "story" - The only thing that is true is that I worked there for 3 weeks - I have nothing good or bad to say about Marcus Evans.

Excellent Product Unnecessary Story

They do deliver That is the frustrating thing about working there I only lasted a few weeks because I just could not get comfortable with the story and everything I learned as a stock broker had to be thrown out the window. No computer, no emailing, just a phone and the story with every word listened to and every move watched Black Stress I could not handle it and was very relieved when they let me go. Such a good product, indeed the best Ive ever seen. Such a shame not to be able to take advantage of the opportunity.

From a clients perspective

As an executive who has worked with Marcus Evans before (not for them, I don't know how they treat their employees), we were very apprehensive about working with them because of some of the comments on this board and others. However, we did speak with some of our peers who have actually been to Marcus Evans Summits and ultimately decided to give them a shot.
I must admit we were pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the staff and level of attendees their program attracted. We went into this program with many reservations, but left feeling comfortable. As of now (2 months since we attended) we have closed some business and have established relationships with companies we would have never had the opportunity to meet on our own.
Everything in our dealings with ME has not been perfect. When they were originally trying to get us to there Summits at one point there were 3 different sales people calling us which was less than ideal. They are aggressive sales people which did turn us off initially. Overall we have been satisfied with them and are using them again for next year. Short comings and all, at the end of the day they did deliver what was promised to us.
With all of the negativity, I wanted share the prospective of someone who has actually worked with them. A lot of people (like the original poster) like to hide behind anonymity which I understand, but if you want to speak with some one who has been a client of this company before I would be happy to have a phone conversation with you. Send me your email and I will respond with my phone number.
Best,
R. Martinez

Yes this is all true. Marcus Evans is bullshit company and service. You will want your money back or sue but have your lawyers read the contract you sign carefully. It states that you can never get your money back, it ca only be transfered to other events/services. The NYC office is run by a bunch off oddballs obsessed with sales tactics and British-style sales tricks and hardballing every lead. When a salesman calls you to close you, there will be others listening in, coaching him on how to convince you to buy before you hang up the phone because they have found that if prospects are given time to research the company, they hear back bad, unethical, shady things such as the corp website lies in a huge way about the number of Marcus Evans employees.
