On thursday may 21st I found a Vehicle on CARS.COM, after contacting the dealer Clarke Hunner of Partner Expert Inc. Which I was told was a Division Of The Marcus Jameson Company, we began negotiations on a BMW X6. He informed me that they were an international company and we could get a price break if we wired the money to an overseas account. My mother in law and myself were very reluctant to do this however we allowed ourselves to be talked into it by this gentleman after he gave us a legitimate VIN number for the vehicle which we looked up on CARFAX.COM.On may 26 I wired money from my husbands National city account and my mother in law wired money from her Wachovia account to the RAIFFEISEN BANK in Budapest-Hungary.The vehicle was scheduled to be delivered on thursday may 28 it did not arrive on schedule so we attempted to contact Clarke Hunner, when our attempts to reach this individual failed we notified our banks and our local police department immediately of the possibility that we might have fallen victims to a scam, we also notified the RAIFFEISEN BANK in Budapest-Hungary which informed us that the account we wired the money to was a legitimate business account and to date has been entirely uncooperative to our banks attempts to recall the wire transfer. Needless to say we still have not received the car we payed for.
We have since then contacted the FBI internet crime unit and filed a complaint have a complaint number which is I0906041717479822. After some research i have noticed the name RAIFFEISEN BANK being associated with a few other scams involving motor vehicle. US residence should beware when doing business transactions involving this bank because they seem to foster fraudulent and criminal activities.
