Mariner Marine did a service on my boat and trailer. i asked them to repair 2 hubs and an overheating issue on one of my motors. 

when i picked the boat up they did one hub i had asked them to do and the other they did a random tire. the tired i had asked them to do fell off on my way home from thier shop. 

when i dropped the boat in the water the boat overheated in the first 5 minutes. i did more research into the issue and the poppet was missing from the boat.

mariner marine charged over $1000 to do these simple services which did not work!!

when i called mariner marine to try and resolve the issue they were unwilling to resolve the issue and swore up and down that the boat was not overheating when they tested it. 

Beware of mariner marines high prices and unreliable service and crooked shop manager!

i gave no indication of a budget on the repair. i did however give them specific tasks i wanted completed. there was no complaint of "noise" coming from the port side of the trailer. i told mariner marine to replace the bearings on the port side of the trailer because i just had the starboard bearings done the previous week instead they replaced the two bearings in the front of the trailer against what i told them to do. causing the wheel to fall off.

 

the boat had the power head rebuilt the week before but the person whom rebuilt the power head forgot to reinstall the poppet valve (poppet valve controls the water flow in the engine so the engine can cool at idle) that was the cause of the motor overheating i figured it out after garrett returned the boat to me. i had personally replaced the water pumps before dropping the boat off to garrett. he told me the pump housings were burned up and "descintegrated" but they werent i have pictures of the housing to prove otherwise and have sent the pictures to garrett.   

 

garrett then swore up and down to me that they dropped the boat in the ocean and tested it and found no overheating issue which was un true because the boat overheated within 5 minutes because there was no poppet valve in the motor!

 

so to summarize i told garrett to replace two port bearings on the trailer, he replaced the two front bearings.

i told garrett to fix the overheating issue and test the motor he did not and could not have fixed it because the poppett was mising after i got the boat back he then lied to me about the water pump being bad not knowing that i had already replaced it before dropping the boat off to him for service. 

 

garrett is dishonest and gouges his customers for marine service! do not trust him or mariner marine!

My name is Garrett Mars and I am the Service Manager here at Mariner Marine.

 

Mr. Greco brought his boat and trailer in for service on 06/23/2014.

His complaints were;

Starboard running hot,
Port making noise when he loaded on trailer

The boat had numerous problems, but the customer was under a very tight budget and we did our best to work within his means.

Upon dropping the gearcase we found a dissentegrated water pump and melted housing. Both the pump and housing were replaced and the boat was tested on a hose without issue.

Unfortunately, the customer had recently replaced the powerhead and we did not realize there were additional problems that were not duplicated while running on city water.

The trailer was in disrepair and needed all hubs replaced but the customer declined and chose to have the worst ones replaced. We replaced both forward hub which were the two in the worst condition and would actually wobble when pushed.

We also found a failed trim relay on his port engine which we replaced.

Shortly after delivering the boat, the customer informed us that he was still having issues, we requested that he bring the boat in and we would take care of it. He refused and instead filed a claim with the credit card company trying to get his payment reversed. After we both submitted documentation to the credit card company, they ruled in our favor.

We have been here for 35 years and pride ourselves on excellent customer satisfaction and always take care of issues. Unfortunatly Mr. Greco refused to allow us to do so.
