I am amazed at how gullible people are nowadays. How can hire someone to do such an important job without doing your full due diligence? How can you not verify someone's ID when you hire them? How about business license and insurance?

I really cannot understand how som many people can be so gullible and just plain stupid. You really ripped yourself off.

NEVER pay any contractor in cash, AND most important, NEVER pay anyone even 1 cent until the job is done to your satisfaction. Anyone who cannot afford to buy the supplies, really isn't in business, and that should send up a red flag right awy.

COMMON SENSE!!!!

Please contact me regarding Dale Massey of Massey Professional Services. He got me too. I hired him to help paint my house and the job was "piss-poor" and not completed. I have a copy of the contract and all receipts of my payments. He hired help off craigslist and didn't even pay them. Unreliable and a sorry excuse for a human. Since your last posting he has changed his number and fell off the grid.

Did you get anywhere with your attorney?

Anybody who can help me, I would greatly appreciate a response.

Craigslist even has warnings all over the site warning you against wiring money to strangers.  And, this is just common sense if you are more than 10 years old!

Did you ever bother to actually verify a legitimate business existed, or a dba, or anything???

What about insurance??

A lawyer won't do you any good.  You can't prove you paid him for the work!  That's why you don't "wire" money.

Just plain stupidity here all around.  Just chalk that up to a lesson learned and move on.

i call a moving co/on craigslist to move a travel trailer from Georgia to FL !!! talk to Dale Massey and he said he could do it!! but needed me to send a money gram from Walmart to cover a deposit i did on the 08/03/2011 in good faith.was suppose to pick trailer for delivery on the 8/09/2011 but i got a email saying that the plan has change because of truck breaking down.but my understanding was that he had more truck.So i preceed to call him and he say that the truck was in the shop and he could not do it at the moment so i ask for my money back to be sent the way i did .but he said that he did not have it at the moment!!! because he put out the money for the repairs on his truck!!the phone # is 904/412/6342

Ron "Dale Massey Professional Services is an absolute scam artist. I responded to Craigslist posting by Dale looking for a experienced painter with tools and vehicle to subcontract work from him. I met with Dale and agreed to the terms and explained to him that a had no money for material. He said that if I could borrow the money for materials he could pay me in full the day of completion of the job. Little did I know that Dale had received $800.00 of the $1,300.00 dollar contract
amount in advance. He offered nothing to buy materials. The Contract that I had with Dale was for $675.00 material and labor. I completed the job as agreed and the homeowner paid Dale the balance of $500.00.

Dale said the bank was already closed so he would pay me monday morning.  He changed from 9:00am to 11-12:00 pm then to 5:00pm then to 7-8:00 pm. It's now been over a week and dale won't answer my calls, won't return my messages or texts. This man is a crook, a thief, a liar and a coward. don't trust this thief. His word is no good. And he calls himself a Christian man. Even his message at 904 412-6342 will tell you to have a "blessed day". So beware of this scammer.

What does a Private Investigator's license have to do with painting or moving??????

FYI... The State of Florida requires legitimate businesses to have, at a minimum a business license and a filing of either fictitious name, or a corp, llc, etc.

Movers need to be licensed and insured. NOT "optional".

Did this "Dale" or "Ron" or whomever he claimed to be show you a business license and certificate of insurance??

Did you ask for such credentials??

If not, why not???

Also, the ONLY business in the State of Florida that is registered is "Massey Professional Services" which is a PEST CONTROL Company. Is this guy Dale hijacking the name of a legitimate business?

Is his last name Massey? Did you even check his ID?? If not, why not??

It appears that you may have brought this problem on yourself because you failed to perform due diligence BEFORE authorizing work to be done and handing over your money.

NEVER hire unlicensed or uninsured people to work for you! If one of them would have gotten hurt while working for you, they could have claimed they were in your employ and held you financially responsible!

The bottom line here is that you need to pull your head out!

This Home owner Hired us to Paint the Interior walls of his new home it was Complete and Great job.He also hired us to Move Him We did. Nothing was broke we moved him from . A to .B Also He called us off the internet. He Held $ 475.00 WE NEED OUR MONEY ! We worked Hard And JOB WAS DONE.
