Mathew, Circle K, Marana AZ CLERK GOES NUTS AND FILES FALSE REPORTS AFTER BEING TOLD HE WILL BE REPORTED TO AREA MGR. Marana Arizona

My son bought and paid for a soda at Circle K and then asked why they charged full price for a refill. My son is uses the same cup as long as he can in order to have less plastic wind up in our landfills.

When he asked Mathew, a clerk at the store why they charge full price for a refill, he was treated to a nasty response by Mathew telling my son he didn't like his attitude. My son stated the only attitude was coming from Mathew and the manager.

Mathew then went ballistic and yelled that's it, get out of here! My son proceeded to leave rather than cause a commotion.

Mathew on the other hand, called the police and proceeded to run out in the parking lot telling police that my son was threatening him while writing down my son's license number.

My son arrived home a few minutes later as I was just leaving to go to the grocery store. He told me what happened so I told him I would go get the clerks name so we could report him to the district manager.

I arrived at the Circle K a few minutes later. I asked for the manager and told them I was getting mathews name so my son could report him to the district manager.

Mathew then started going off again saying my son had threatened him. I asked what exactly he had said to threaten him and all he said was, "you don't understand, He refused to leave and threatened me."

I told him again well we are going to report you to your district manager and proceeded to leave.

Mathew then came running out as I am backing out of the parking lot and ran at my vehicle, I became alarmed when I heard him on the phone talking to the police telling them "yeah he is threatening me now." I got out of the van and asked him how I could be threating him if I wasn't even talking to him.

I should also include that I was so shook up by this obviously deranged idiot running at my vehicle that I bumped into a pickup as I was backing up. No damage to the pick-up but a small dimple in the rear hatch of my van.

At this point I figured I better pull back in and call the police. As I pulled back into the parking space, no less than four cop cars pulled into the parking lot obviously expecting a riot from what Mathew the deranged clerk had told them.

I talked to the police and explained what happened. They said, you know they have video. I said great lets check it out, this guy Mathew is nuts.

To make a long story short, Mathew the deranged Circle K clerk, falsely reported that my son and I had threatened him and refused to leave, which resulted in a chinese fire drill of cops converging on the place expecting mayhem.

I would strongly advise you to avoid this Circle K if you don't want to be the victim of Mathew, the deranged clerk.

Also, I might point out that we have lived in the area for almost 30 years and have been going to this store off and on for all that time.

I am just about to retire from the City of Tucson and was an investigator for the City Attorney's office for 10 years and currently am an inspector. I don't make a habit of threatening Circle K clerks or anyone else for that matter.

Take my advice, don't shop at Circle K unless you want your day ruined by some nutty clerk with a misplaced authority complex who thinks it is fun to lie to the police.

I hope Mathew and Circle K like being sued because that is exactly what I plan to do. Circle K, is Mathew really the kind of employee you want dealing with the public? If so it could be expensive for you.
