Matt Dillon is a vending machine locator that I was assigned to through Selective Consultants, a location company that uses independant contractors to find locations and place them there. I first met Matt on May 22nd where he unpacked most of my machines and said that the whole job of locating and placing machines would be done within a week. Well it is now June 30 and I have about four placed and the rest still sit in my garage. None of the machines are even loaded with product.
Today he actually dropped of one of the machines back to my house, when I was not home, claiming he had to remove another machine from somewhere else in order to make room. Matt has given me the run around for about five weeks now. I have taken off 3 days from work and have purchased all the supplies for the machines as per his request. He is a shady man, and I cant believe that there are people like this out there.
If there is anyone who can help me with this it id greatly appreciated. Otherwise I hope this report will atleast help some people from using the same fraud I did. My last word of advice is just stay away from the whole vending industry. You will sleep alot better at night if you do.

It happened to me, too.

I ended up with Matt Dillon on July 23, 2008. He took 2 weeks to locate my 30 machines. Said it would take 3 days. He had a helper with him. In the end, there are probably 15 machines located out of the 30. Some are missing. Some were put in without permission and I had to take them out. But at the time, all looked good. He brought his family with him - wife Miracle and 3 of his 4 kids. We developed a sort-of relationship. Kids played together. Gives me the heebie jeebies now that they were even in my house so many times. He's a crook!
In the end, he gave me a great "deal" on some candy machines, which is what I was looking for. I gave him $2000. He left. He stayed in touch by phone for about 1 1/2 weeks then said his phone was broken and I needed to just text him. So I texted him for the next 1 1/2 weeks and now his phone no longer accepts my calls.
I doubt I'll ever get my money back but I want to shout this to the rooftops to check someone out before using them. My locating company had used him many times with no complaints. They started getting complaints right before sending him to me. I wish they'd said something. They got ripped off by him, too. But the locating company also told me if I reported them on the Rip-Off Report they would sue me for defamation of character so I shan't use their name. Nice, huh? To their credit, they are supposedly sending someone out to locate my machines that aren't located. Though the missing ones could pose a problem!
I'm so broke. I used every red cent I had to do this and then borrowed to get the locator because I was too shy to do it myself.
Let anyone and everyone know to locate yourself or at least check the guy out over and over again before using him!

you are probably stuck

You are probably stuck, but I would still pursue it till you have decided that you can not deal with it. However, I would not take time off from your job as I doubt you will ever see any money from that.
My dad got sucked in to the vending machine business years ago. He was promised all kinds of promises, he was going to make all this money etc.......... He never saw a dime from it , sadly. Most are basically based on a pyramid type scheme, there is always a person up the road who is making the money, but the rest of the people get sucked in and lose their money. I hope it works out for you.
