I was the Tucson V.P. for the previously largest ISP in the world before I was forced to leave because I supported what turned out to be the WORST consulting services we have ever retained. Matt Hawk (now "president" of Retention Specialists, Inc.) spearheaded a campaign that was supposed to turn around our call center's slipping retention of ISP clients. I wish I could say, "What a joke!" But his endorsement cost me my career. And now he has the b****s to claim on his website that he did some sort of "service" for us?!?!?
Buyer beware! He also "leads" a company called hawkplanners.com that supposedly helps hockey coaches after his self-proclaimed meltdown that occurred as a result of some unspecified reason.... It might have something to do with the fact that he was directly responsible for my being let go because I supported his program with OutSell Consulting. I have no doubt why they fired him--What a terrible waste of money. He might be better suited as a high school hockey coach, but why anyone would ever pay him more than minimum wage to "consult" is beyond me.
Luckily I have been able to rebound successfully but my previous employer is no longer the world's leading ISP, thanks in part to his outrageous promises, gross lack of professionalism and complete lack of efficacy. When I saw that he went out on his own with his formula for failure, I felt obligated to warn everyone.
If you have been burned by Matt Hawk and his "consultancy" I encourage you to share it with our online community. I wish you luck with your retention rates--beware of this shyster.

This post regarding Matt Hawk is patently false. It was supposedly written by an "RJ, ex-AOL VP" in order to ruin Matt Hawk's reputation. I am Rod Johnson, or "RJ" the "ex-AOL VP." I didn't write the post, and found it to be complete fabrication, slanderous, and cowardly. Apparently, my ghost writer forgot to ask my true opinion on the work that Matt did while representing OutSell Consulting, at AOL, Inc., which is as follows: Matt Hawk was an incredible asset to OutSell, and AOL. His steady approach and support assisted me in leading a change in the culture of an operation. He assisted my organization in installing sales leadership programs to improve and sustain performance. During the time in which I worked with Matt, our site performance consistently improved, and was ultimately ranked amongst the highest in the company. I continue to use those very same principles my organization today. I would personally recommend his service, and would not hesitate to work with him again.

period in question and still works for me 10 years later. He delivered
outstanding client results in Tucson and everywhere else he went. Matt
