Max Cleaners ripped me off. I dropped my cloths for dry cleaning on 07/2014. I went back to pick up my clothing a couple of months later over half of my items were missing. I dropped off over 37 pieces they only have 17 pieces. Since I went a couple of months later to get my cloths they told me they don't know what happen but they only have 17 pieces. It's my word against them. I asked for a copy of there surviallance video they refused because it will show I dropped off 37 pieces instead of 17. I filed a complaint with BBB this is what they responded back with.

Dear sir or madam!
I apologize for such a late respond to this important matter.   I have a family emergency oversea and just got back.  Mrs. Tahayla Hamilton dropped her 17 pieces of garments in our store on 7-14-2014 at 1:35pm.  She came back on 11- 28-14 on 8:28am retrieving her clothes without a receipt over 4 month later.  We clearly have a large sign in the store that stated clothes must be pick within 30 days !We try to assist her because we want to serve and please our customer.  We are a dry cleaners and we generate our revenues when customer pick up their garments.  We quickly found her clothes once she remembered the telephone number she used when she dropped off her clothes since she didnt bring her receipt.  It is a total of 17 pieces written on our receipt and we gave her the identical receipt when she dropped her clothes off. Mrs Hamilton claims there were 37 pieces! We can not return 37 pieces
When we only received 17 pieces.   We have been trying to contact her to pick up her clothes but she refused stating she have more clothes. It is necessary for her to bring in a receipt to proof such a frivolous claim.  She send bbb a letter with conflicting claim stating we told her she is out of luck and that we lost all of her clothes.  We would not be in business for 15 years if that is how we treat our dear customer.   We have been contacting her numerous times she either don't pick up her phone or refused to pick up her clothes in a very disrespecting manner.  We will need for her to bring in a receipt to proof her frivolous claim ! Her side of the story have no merit .  There is a discrepancy in  when she stated she drop off her clothes and when she pick up based our computer record.  We will be more than happy to further assist her with the actual receipt stating her claim.    Meanwhile, we would really appreciate if she would pick up her 17 pieces that she dropped off ! Thank you so much for your assistance and mediating this matter.
               Warmest regards,
              Kritin Luu

If thats the case why can't you give me a copy of your video surviallance. It will show I dropped of 37 pieces. I have no reason to lie or file a false claim. The only thing that I want is my 37 pieces of items that I dropped off. Now it's my word against there's and I don't know what to do from here.

Consumer Responsibility

They say to pick up clothes within 30 days with a receipt; you came in 4 months later with no receipt. Most companies do not keep recorded surveillance that long, and even if they do they're not obligated to show you the footage without a subpoena. They claim their copy of your receipt shows 17 items. Based on the info in this report, I would have to side with the business. Consumers need to take responsibility for their part in business transactions.
