Mayan Luxxe Vida Vacations, Interval International, Vacation Class Mayan Timeshare Scam! BEWARE! STAY AWAY FROM MAYAN....... Nuevo Vallarata, Mexico, Internet

First off, I am not a stupid person. I own my own successful business and have a college education. I own two timeshares and have used them every year for over twenty years. For me to fall prey to this scam means they are making money hand over fist!

They wine and dine you. They talk to my husband and I about our favorite vacations and sell my teenage sons on a trip to the Stanley Cup. They make my daughter who is 11 even have fun around the table. They talk about leaving these sweet children of mine a legacy and how when we get home they can help us set up the trust. They are smooth, come off as very intelligent, while the whole time they are lying, scamming and stealing from my family.

Here is list of the lies:
They have a book with the top resorts combined from II and RCI as well as the top resorts around the world:
Reality: there is no book. There a few resorts and they are not worldwide, but very, very limited.
They have Turks and Caicos and South Africa - no they do not, unless you pay for it out of pocket, no exchanges there.
They do not buy back your timeshares. They leave you with those maintenance fees on top of the new bill from them.
They say there are no maintence fees but there are.
They assure you that you can rent your units for minimum of $4200 and give you a list of companies that will do this. Reality- they are part of the scam and now you just lost another $600 to rent you timeshare scam. The websites they advertise on are hard to navigate and one doesn't even pull up!

There is so much more but I don't want to dwell on it. You get the picture - it's a scam and they lied about EVERYTHING pretty much.

So, how to solve. I have hired an attorney and he will start next week on pursing to get my money back. But, more importantly I have filed a complaint with Visa and I plan to continue to work my way up with Visa and other credit card companies to inform them of the fraud that is happening at this resort. Perhaps American citizens will be told about others from Visa when trying to use their card. I will also be filing my opinion on RCI and II about my experience at the MAYAN resorts and I will discourage others from going there and if they choose to not to buy there. I also plan to call the corporate offices of II and RCI to let them know that by using the Mayan resorts they are getting a bad reputation and they should consider not be affliated with the Mayan properties. You can do these things too.While we may not have rights in Mexico; we do here and our freedom of speech can warn others and potentially stop this company. 

The resort is beautiful and they are classy people; it reeks of money and success. But.....BEWARE!
