Maytag Poor quality Cleveland Tennessee
*Consumer Comment: Maytag treated me unfairly
*General Comment: Crybaby
My new Maytag Centennial Washer (Model MVSC200XW2) is defective. One month after the warranty expired, I discovered a huge oil leak when moving the washer to rearrange shelving in laundry room. Lifted up the washer and saw oil dripping out of the transmission. Had probably been leaking since day one. Maytag agreed to provide the part at no cost, however they will not cover labor to install which is $172. The washing machine new was $499. Will never buy another Maytag product. Ever.

Maytag treated me unfairly

Allow me to start off by saying that I recently had a Maytag appliance that failed. I am not upset that the appliance failed. Mechanical items do go bad. I can accept that. The reason I feel that I was treated unfairly is that I feel I was deceived into believing that the Maytag Brand was one of higher quality than the companies less expensive line Whirlpool. A service technician that has a lot of experience informed me that the high end washing machine that I paid a premium price for has the exact same components and parts as the lower priced Whirlpool. If this is true, I feel the product was misrepresented.
In calling around to have my machine repaired, many reputable appliance repair companies expressed their frustration in obtaining parts from Whirlpool. I have a local appliance dealer a few blocks away from my home. They repair what they sell and they do not sell Maytag or the less expensive line of Whirlpool. They were nice enough to send one of their technicians to my home and they told me what parts were required to repair my washer. Maytag Customer Service was so nice. They offered to repair my washing machine for $349.00. The technician from the local store suggested I accept this offer. I was told by Maytag Customer Support that they will "repair or replace" my appliance and the billed my credit card. They set up an appointment with a service company they use. I called the company the day before to attempt to save them a service call. The service company told me to order the parts! Maytag insisted that their company needed to evaluate the repair. The service company gave me a time window of between 11 AM and 5 PM. They arrived after 2 PM and confirmed what I had told them the day before.
I will withold the technician's opinion of my high end Maytag Washing Machine. If there is a class action attorney our there, their may be enough people out their that felt they were buying a higher quality than what they paid for. Enough said about that. Later that day, the technician called and informed me that Maytag was going to replace my washing machine and they would contact me in a few days to make arrangements. They never called. After a week, I called them. They told me that they were not going ro repair or replace my washing machine, they were going to refund the $349 they accepted to repair or replace my appliance. Anyone out there feel this is fair? Please let me know. Yesterday, I spent over three hours on the phone being bounced around. Anyone think this is fair? Try calling their customer service and see how long it takes to talk to anyone and how many times you are transferred. Yes, I can verify that my call to 800-688-9900 at 9:54 AM lasted 3 hours and 13 minutes.
Anyone think this is fair? We left off that they were going to order the parts. I think I will follow up with them when I finish here. I was just looking to see what problems others were having with Maytag. I feel this company has treated me unfairly. I may have a lot more to say. I certainly am not impressed with the company. Maytag treated me unfairly. When I have the time, I may share my experience with as many as I can and I will certainly post my concerns regarding the unfair treatment I received in my dealing with Whirlpool Corporation.

Stop being a CRYBABY!! Your unit was out of warrenty and Maytag went ABOVE and BEYOND and gave you the part for free. They were under ZERO obligation to do that. So instead of being thankful that they took pity on your stupidity and misfortune, you have the NERVE to complain because they wouldnt do MORE. Accept the responsibilty of OWNERSHIP and quit looking to deep pockets to pay for YOUR PROBLEM!! And thats what this is, YOUR PROBLEM. You are a self entitled little twit who shouldnt be allowed to own anything. You have shown yourself to be a scammer and Maytag is LUCKY to get rid of your scamming a*s.
You sicken me. YOU are a prime example of no matter how well you perform customer service there is ALWAYS some j****** who has to stick their hands down both sides of that gift horse. You are LUCKY they did anything at all since you are out of warrenty. YOU scammed them for the FREE part, and NOW attempt to use social blackmail to get even more out of them. You are a sleezy scumball whos only redeeming quality is as worm food.
And point in fact, your washer is NOT as new as you would like the web to think. Its OVER a year old. Which means if it HAD been leaking oil since "day one" as you suggest then your unit would have broken down long ago. This means that you KNEW you were scamming them when you approached them. You have used a concentrated effort to scam them and continue to attempt to do so. Youre not reporting a great injustice done to yourself. All you are doing is showing us all that you are less then scum. That YOU do this alot and we should ALL be warned that live in YOUR area that YOU are a serial scammer.
You must make your parents SO VERY PROUD of the sleezy thief they have raised.
