To anyone concidering Buying a Maytag
(fix and repair daily}

These was the most incredable washer and dryer I had ever seen or owned. They did a great job cleaning and drying our close with very little water usage, with a short cycle time and all very quietly.This was true at least for the first few months. Then nightmare began.

If you watched the maytag comercials you would think the Maytag repairman didn't even need a truck but I can assure you that he does. He wore out at least 4 of them out in the last 3 years just repairing my Maytag washer and dryer.

In june 1998 the washing machine started making noise and the repairs begain starting with the first belt.

January 1999 the pump had to be replaced.

November 2000 the belt had to be replaced again and, the noises had grown to a level as to require the tv to be turned up when it was running. When we asked about the noises we were alway told it was normal and could not be fixed.

In August 2001 the pump, belt and pully's had to be replaced again.

Febuary 2002 the noises had grown to be intolerable the washing machine was banging and moving around the room on its own. At this time the repair man had to gut the machine replacing all major internal components, sutch as the drum, tank, main shaft with spider bracket, belts, pullies, seals, gaskets, and soap dispenser.

August 2002 the repair man found the dryer tearing it's self apart. some bolts had come loose and tore a large hole in the side of the dryer and the washing machine. they had to replace all major components in the dryer including the case.

January 2003 washing machine starts over flowing. the water level switch had to be replaced. the belts pullys and bushings also had to be replaced.

March 2003 Pump has failed again

April 2003 now washing mashine turns off with no warning, unlocking door dumping 10 to 20 gallons of water out the front of the machine. The water dumps beyond the safety pan doing thousands in damages to ceilings, floors and equipment down stairs.

We thought we were buying a top of the line set of washers and dryers and found out that they were the very bottom of the line. We feel foolish for paying almost $2000 for this sub standard junk, and wish that we had bought the cheepest washer dryer set available. They surly would have lasted longer than the Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set we did buy.

I will never recomend any Maytag products again, and definitly not purchase any again.
