I just checked my checking account online and noticed a check for $34.95, check number 8-081121-408189 on 11/21/2008. The bank has changed their name a couple years ago and is now Siuslaw Bank. On the check they used Siuslaw Valley Bank. Where the signature goes it says ( Your depositor has authorized this draft, No signature required). Then it has my name and address and the right account number.

I was told you can file charges with your local sheriff department, which I will be doing next.
I am also changing my bank account number. It's really weird, because I only use this account for my car insurance and it is automatic. I never use this account and I am really wondering HOW did they get my information on a checking account I never used online?

I noticed someone else filing a report against this company that they used to be a mary kay consultant and I used to be also. She figured mary kay maybe gave out the info, but who knows.

I called the mb hotplanet with the reference number that was on the check and they said that I purchased an adult website. I said I did not and have never heard of them and I also told them I googled them on the search engine and fraud reports came up everywhere about how bad this company is. I told her to do a search and she said that mb hotplanet is not fraudulent and cannot be found in the search. How bogus! Anyway, I said, o.k. now tell me what the name of this website I purchased, and they said, sorry we just know that it is an adult website, we do not have the information on the name of the website you bought.

So, I said you just randomly take money for companies, yet you cannot give me the companies name that I supposedly purchased? She said no.
I am sickened over this! Mb hotplanet said they would give me a refund in 10 business days not including weekends. Well, they can do that, however, I am changing my account and my bank gives me my money back during the investagation and if you win it stays in your account, if you lose, it is taken out. Though I will not lose. This is identity theft!

Someone needs to do something about this company!! They need to be sued, this is soooo wrong!

Luke - 11 Aug 2008
Don't know this business.

drafter - 17 Sep 2008
It is just another number for the MB Hot Planet (Market Billing) jerks...I just got hit with one today.

tracy a - 12 Nov 2008
This happened to me too. For $39.99. I am not connected with countrywide at all though. Also, it was my maiden name and old info.

Cookie - 22 Nov 2008
My mother is a senior and not in to porno. She too was hit with a charge of $39.99 for a porn website. I called the "clearing house" company in charge of collecting the money for the porno site and disputed the charges; I was told my mother would receive a credit in 10 weeks! Can you imagine taking money from an account and then hanging on to the money for weeks! I cannot believe this...Do any of you know the company that is attached to the phone number 866 572-5111? I was not able to get the porno website or company information. Please let me know. Thank you.

I just got hit by this company MB Hotplanet. They took out $34.95 out of my checking a couple days ago. They said it was for an adult site and I asked for the name and they said they did not know. Identity theft! I am filing a complaint with my local sheriff dept besides changing my checking account! The bank told me I can file with the sheriff over this problem and you might want to too.

deallmaker - 22 Sep 2008
I haven't used checks in over 5 yrs. All my banking/paying bills is through my bank (online). I never use checks, just my debit card, so I knew something wasn't right when I checked my account online and saw this internet check for $29.95, they even had my full name and address. I called their 866 number and the guy who answered said they were just a clearing house, that I would get a refund in 3-5 business days. I am not waiting, I am taking a photo copy of the online check (front and back) and going to my bank. My bank wants me to close my bank account, but even if I do, what is stopping someone in doing this again, especially since I haven't given out my checking bank account number. I told my bank that I want all internet checks to be blocked. That they should only accept checks with my actual signature. They told me they can't block any online checks. No wonder so many banks and financial institutions are in financial trouble, they don't give a dam about their customers, unless you are millionaire.

I then notified the FBI online and filed a complaint for internet fraud.

I just had the same problem occur to me. A mysterious internet check for $39.99 appeared on my online statement from MB Hot Planet Customer Service with the phone number 1-866-572-5111 and a referrence number. I called them and spoke to Heather at Market Billing, she told me that they are only the billing company for Hot Planet and that this current charge would be reversed within a week and all further debits would be cancelled also. She also told me that this is a charge for an online subscription. After reading your comments I will deffinitely contact my bank and see if we can find out the IP and location of who did this.

mike - 1 Oct 2008
Same thing happened to me.call the bank sign a fraud statement.

another victim - 3 Oct 2008
Same thing happened to us -- $39.99 drawn as an electronic check out of an account that we don't write check from. Will report to FBI, as well. Our bank says they're seeing at least 5 incidents a day from this company.

Bonnie - 3 Oct 2008
Same thiing happened to me also. I called the number and they told me it would be credited back to my account. Not Good Enough. So I contacted my bank and disputed the amount, they credit my account right away. My concern is how in the world MB Hot Planet get my checking account information which I never give out. The only recent thing that I did was fill out my automatic deposit for this new job.

Same here - 18 Oct 2008
The same thing just happened to me. I'm so glad I caught it early. They debited my account for $34.95 on Oct. 10. I called the 1-866 number and the woman who answered apologized and told me that they would cancel the "subscription" (that I never asked for) and refund me in my money within 7 to 10 business days. What's up with this company? How are they getting away with this?

Nicholas Arnold - 21 Oct 2008
Same here. $39.99. US Banks says I have to close the account. WTF is going on!!! This MB Hot Planet thing has GOT to stop. Unbelievable.

Alanthis - 24 Oct 2008
Didn't get a call from them, but just checked my account this morning to find a withdrawl from them for 24.95. On the phone with my bank as we speak.

kim - 5 Nov 2008
My bank e-mailed an overdraft notice to me on(11/04)and since I don't write checks I went on line to see why...an electronic check for $39.99 was drafted from my account from HB HOT PLANET. The bank placed a freeze on my account along with closing the account...just a thought are any of you countrywide customers? Earlier this year I received a letter from them stating that my personal info had been sold....

Shaun - 6 Nov 2008
Bingo, I have a Countrywide mortgage, also. And MB Hot Planet scammed $29.95 from my checking account. I closed that account and opened another, but will be nervous unless I can figure out how they got this information in the first place. You know that Countrywide has recently been bought out by Bank of America...?

Alisa - 12 Nov 2008
I too have a Countrywide mortgage and had the same thing happen to me with a charge from MB Hot Planet for %24.99 directly coming out of my checking account. I filed an FBI complaint and am hoping it amounts to something.
Has anyone received a refund from MB Hot Planet??????

Jeff S - 19 Nov 2008
Happened to me too for $39.99. Called the 866 number and was told I would get a credit within 7 to 10 business days and today I received the credit.
But how can they continue to get away with this? Isn't the billing company aware of how many fraudulent checks they've processed?

ZooKeeper - 25 Oct 2008
Sure enough, like you guys, I checked my acct and there was a check for $24.95. I called and will get my money back. I guess that I'm going to have to shut my checking acct., this is the 2nd time my acct has been hit in 2 months, the first one was a debit for $2.86 from Applique LLC, out of Connecticut, on Aug 20, 2008. I don't know how they are getting my acct, but I'm going to have to figure out what to do. I NEED my checking acct, but I don't need this crap. In looking further into the check, the address associated with my name is totally wrong, and my bank never called me on it. The address shows 1521 Commodore Ct. somewhere in FL I can't make out the name of the city or zip code, and yet, the 2 addresses that my bank has for me is TX and MO, so there will be MAJOR hell raised about no one calling me about a fraud alert from my bank!

I also checked my banking online and noticed a online check for $39.99, I called the number and there's a quick busy signal when the call tries to go through. I also can't believe the bank didn't call when it shows on the online check that the address TOTALLY doesn't match my address on file. It has a different city and state as well as street. This is BS.....now I have to deal with this first thing monday morning

what - 29 Oct 2008
it was 39.95 for me, i called the 866 number and the lady said i subscribed for an adult website last friday, which i never did -_-; she said the refund would take about 5-7 business days.. how did it happen? Maybe I shouldn't access online banking from this one (work) because i think my boss or someone else has been seeing adult websites and somehow my information was used

Did not get a call, just a withdrawal from my account and when i did call the number it was busy!! I guess its a lesson to NEVER submit electronic check information online anywhere, as it is obvious once its out there any ole JERK can get a hold of it!!

Theresa - 18 Nov 2008
I have a Countrywide Mortgage too. Looks like a valid connection.

SJ - 21 Nov 2008
IN-credible!!!! The funny thing is that the online check has my ex-wife's name on it and an address that I used to live at 7 years ago!!! I'm on the phone with my bank now.

Scary.

Amy - 21 Nov 2008
I received a call from my bank today and the same thing happened. I had to file a police report and a fraud report at the bank. Close my account and open a new one! Crappy Deal for all of us. I am wondering like everyone else. How the Hell did they get my acct info?? And the address was an old address. Lucky, I don't keep much money in the acct. and it put me on the NSF list so it was caught very quickly.

jack - 22 Nov 2008
they hit us and said it was an adult subscription website. That is like the most ridiculous thing that I would ever subscribe to. I don't know how they got my bank account info or why they had the E-check under my mother-in-law's name. We called them twice. The first time it was busy and the second time she asked us for more personal information supposedly to verify. She said it would be refunded in 10 days. This is terrible cuz now I have to close my business bank account and make all these changes.

Tom - 3 Dec 2008
I got hit too, but I have no affiliation with Countrywide. I bank with U.S. Bank, and my checking account was nailed for 39.99 the dat before Thanksgiving.

The address was completely wrong, so like others I'll be taking up with my bank the reason it didn't throw am alert.

I had the same thing happen to me and I also had a Countrywide Home loan. I'm curious to see what you've been able to do. My bank has been very helpful and I was not held responsible for the charge or fee for the charge. I'm wondering if anything can be done against Countrywide or MB Hot Planet?

Is there anything that can be done about this company???? I filed a sheriff report and the sheriff told me that he doubted anything can be done through the police dept. Great!
I will be filing still with the FBI.com site and with my local District Attorney.
I do think an attorney could have a good case since this company has effected so many people.
