I'VE BEEN A MBNA CUSTOMER SINCE 1999.I MADE EVERY PAYMENT ON OR AHEAD OF TIME. PAID AT LEAST WHAT THEY ASK FOR AND A LOT OF TIMES MORE. CONSOLIDATED LOAN IN 2002 AT 9.9 FIXED. THEY MOVED TO 12.49% IN 12/2004 FOR NO REASON. 1/2005 TO 12.74%. 2/2005 TO 12.99%.4/2005 TO 13.24%. 5/2005 TO 20.49%.

THEY HAD RAN A CREDIT REPORT AND FOUND WE HAD $80,000.00 ON REVOLVING CREDIT. THEY DIDN'T BOTHER TO CHECK THAT OUT. THEY SEEN A WAY TO JUMP UP THE INTEREST RATE, AGAIN. HAD THEY BOTHERED, THEY'D HAVE FOUND THAT I'D REMADE MY HOME LOAN TO GET A FIXED RATE,AND SOMEHOW SHOWED UP LIKE A REVOLVING CREDIT TYPE LOAN.

EVERYONE ELSE CHECKED IT OUT AND LEFT THEIR RATES THE SAME. I THOUGHT A FIXED 9.9% LOAN MEANT THAT AS LONG AS ALL PAYMENTS WERE MET AND ON TIME IT WOULDN'T CHANGE.FOR 6 MONTHS AFTER THEY WENT UP TO 20.49% THEY HAVE TOLD ONE LIE AFTER ANOTHER. THEY EVEN GOT ME TO SEND THEM $739.00 AND THEY WERE GOING TO SET ME UP TO PAY OUT THE LOAN WITH NO MORE INTEREST(0%)FOR 5 YEARS(60 MONTHS).THEY GOT THE CHECK 8/31/2005. I NEVER WAS CALLED AND I COULDN'T GET THROUGH TO THE ONES THAT PROMISED IT.

THEY EVEN TOLD ME THEY COULD CONSOLIDATE SOME OTHER BILLS AND I'D HAVE LOWER PAYMENTS AND INTEREST.IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A DONE DEAL.(NOW THE ARBITRATORS ARE GETTING INVOLVED).WHEN THE MAY 2005 STATEMENT CAME IN IT FLOORED ME. THAT'S WHEN I REALL REALIZED THE HIGHER RATES,AND THAT THEY HAD BEEN GETTING HIGHER FOR NO REASON AT ALL.I QUIT PAYING UNTIL THEY RECTIFIED IT.

IN AUGUST 2005 I THOUGHT THE 60 MONTH DEAL WAS GOOD SO I SENT THEM THE $739.00. I SENT NO MORE SINCE.NOW THE ARBITRATORS WANT ME TO FILL OUT THINGS THAT ARE WELL OVER 1000 TIMES IN THE CLAIMANTS FAVOR.THEY GIVE YOU 30 DAYS TO PROVE SOMETHING THAT IS HARD TO PROVE WITHOUT A PAPER TRAIL.BY FILLING IT OUT OR MAKING ANY OTHER PAYMENTS I FEEL I WOULD BE PLAYING INTO THE 1000 TO 1 ODDS IN THEIE FAVOR.

I'M A 53 YEAR OLD FEMALE THAT WORKS 60 HOURS EVERYWEEK(6 DAYS).I DRIVE NEARLY ONE HOUR EACH W.AY.I AM STILL PAYING ALL MY BILLS, EXCEPT MBNA, DESPITE MY HUSBANDS INJURIES AND HEALTH. THAT SHOWS I DO WHAT I AGREE TO DO, BUT REFUSE TO PAY MORE THAN I AGREED TO.

MBNA is not in business to be your friend

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 03, 2006

They will squeeze you all they can.

I am not sure how you can refuse to pay unless you have a solid paper trail- and expert guidance.

Arbitration is almost a garanteed loss for you. MBNA will probably bring the arbitrator far more business than you ever will, and you know the rule about not biting the hand that feeds you.

Your best approach is to pay MBNA enough to keep from having you credit rating slammed while you look for another credit resource. Then leave MBNA. Fighting with MBNA seems ill advised.

Do you have a local bank, S&L, or credit union that treats you well? Talk to them.
