I had money taken from my account that was unauthorized. True I owe them money, but they are evil. They tell you anything that comes to mind and could care less about your situation. Unfortunately in the real world of non MBNA faithful employees, life happens and puts you in situations where you have to choose. But to them their payments are more important than anything that could ever be going on in your life.

I read another article on this site from an ex employee and I am here to confirm her words based on my experience with them. I am %100 percent sure that I did not authorized them to take money from my account and upon calling them on it they swore that i did.

I was furious and I still am extremely furious. I just wanted to make it a point to say beware of them because they are horrible. Take that former employees words and mine: If you have an account close it pay it get rid of it, because the second life slaps you in the face with a brick, they will be right there waiting to slap you again with mt evrest!

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

MBNA Credit RIP OFF Fraudulently Taking Money out of Bank Account

AUTHOR: Dorcas - (U.S.A.)

Paula, God is on your side, even though it doesn't seem like it now.

From what I understand you began to have difficulty paying your bills. You called them to settle the account so you would NOT owe them any more. That would reduce your out going money, and keep your credit from going bad with MBNA at least. I know at the time they took out the money did hurt you financially for the week, but you are out of the situation with them.

They were wrong for taking the money out without confirming, but that is done and it is nothing you can do about it. But think of it this way, you are now thru with them and your debt is settled, and paid off. You don't have that credit card bill any more and they will close the account, that's one less bill to pay in your time of need.

I also have an MBNA now Bank of America, company I would recommend going online to bbb.org and file a complaint against them for bad business.

Just dont deal with them

AUTHOR: Paula - (U.S.A.)

None of that stuff worked. I could not get my money back. My advice is just dont deal with them because that is ridiculous. Stealing is stealing no matter the circumstances.

MBNA unauthorized money stolen from my bank account ripoff Wilmington Delaware

AUTHOR: Paula - (U.S.A.)

I just wanted to add more info to get people to better understand the exact nature of this incident.

Obviously the account is past due because of circumstances I cannot control right not. They called me Camielle Smith was the name... with an offer of a settlement what was a little less than half of what i owe them.

I tell Camille that it sounds ok and all, but i am not sure that i can go throught with it and that i need her to call me back at the latest possible date to confirm that if i dont confirm then i dont want to go throught with it.

Needless to say she had my bank account number and asked me if i was correct and i said yes. And she agreed to call me back on the stated date. I missed her call, but thought nothing of it because 1)i told her that if i didnt confirm then no deal
2) her message was something like... trying to reach you call me back asap.

Well i decide to check my bank account balance and notice that the amount that was discussed but NEVER confirmed was gone from my account. So i furiously call the number that camille gave me and talk to so broad who tells me that i authorized it. uhm HELLO why would i be calling in a furious rage if that were the case.. anyway. i talk to this lady and she keeps telling me a bunch of nonesense and i ask her where is camille. she tells me shes not in and i tell to let me know when she is at work so i cant talk to her personally.

she puts me on hold and the next person on the phone is some manager person. and this b**** gets on the phone with the same s**t.. "well if you were a company would and we owed you money would you give it back" YES if you didnt authorize it, you just stole money from me. "well the payment went through so you must have some moeny" And just because i have some money that means its for you I have more pressing things to do with my money like EAT and have a place to live.

she goes on with a bunch of bullshit and makes it a point to say all this crap about bad debt write off blah blah blah... oh and there is NO WAY we can give your money back because you owe us.

I mean this is ridiculous... Yes I owe you, but that gives you permission to STEAL FROM ME!!!!

well by this time i am so furious and crying and cant breath etc, etc, i just end the call.

Just discussing this is making it hard to breath.. Anyway thats my story. They are animals vicious lying animals with computer chips for a brain and a heart.
