This is without doubt among the worst managed Mc Donalds in New Jersey. They got my drive thru order wrong or gave me someone else's order 6 times in a 2 month period.

I now know why as when I went in I saw they have an all-Mexican dayworker crew. Not a one of them can speak or read english!

One of them was even working the counter and could not read the english-labeled symbols on the cash register. (you think they'd have a spanish laungage version computer checkout eh?)

They had two rather-youthful caucasian day workers there who are not even bilingal to take the order but they use pictures or show-and-tell to communicate to these Mexicans what to do!

Spoke with the manager and he says his crew is "properly trained" and he blew me off in a heartbeat. He just wants to rake in the $$$ and pay these border-jumpers minimum wage.

Don't visit this McDonalds if you want your order done right or are in a hurry. In the meantime I have placed a call to INS, hopefully they will stop by soon there and see all illegals working in the mcdonalds.

I'm a liberal...

AUTHOR: Nyxalinth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 04, 2011

and i agree with this. It's one of the few areas where I have a more conservative outlook.  I'm in Denver, and you can't get a job in ANY fast food restaurant if you aren't Mexican. I won't comment on whether or not they're legal or illegal.

today I had an interview at Mc Donalds.  The ladies who interviewed me were Mexican. The interview took all less than five minutes.  I'm pretty sure my application went in the trash after I left.

Ask Them To Please Read Your Order Back

AUTHOR: davis_jce - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, November 26, 2009

All you have to do is ask them to repeat your order to you.  Maybe have it written down yourself depending on how big it is.  Then when they fill your order ask for the receipt and have them repeat your order as they are giving it to you.  Smile and say thank you or gracias which ever you feel comfortable saying.  If you want to have some fun find someone who speaks Spanish and have them order the exact same thing as you order and see if it truly is the language barrier causing the problem.  Could be they just know you and don't really like you.  You may not think so but your attitude really does show how you really feel.

Hello!!!

I have not been to a Mcdonalds where the employees were not spanish personally...and if they keep screwing up your order, it is your own fault for going there. All managers in every company be it fast food or not are hired to make money, so unless you are the one working there, and you do not feel you are making what you should, it really should make no differance to you whatsoever...

Hey. it's just Mcdonalds. Not a five star restaurant duhhhh

AUTHOR: Alash - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Hey Kay,
I was born in Guatemala central of AMERICA and I am not SPANISH, I am native Central AMERICAN INDIAN. I speak 4 languages ( Kitche ; which is my NATIVE AMERICAN language , Spanish, English and Portuguese ) I worked very hard to learn Spanish and English.

I am a manager of a fast food restaurant, my team is well trained. Most customers are happy with our service, but sometimes mistakes happen . No one is perfect . When mistakes happen they come back and we fix their order. But there are people like you Kay, that make a big deal out of nothing.

I know why..
Because of the phrase ; The customer is always right but this is not always true. They are not always right. Sometimes they're on the phone while they order, or have 10 kids in the car screaming at them. They don't always know what their order was, and blame the person who took their order.

So customers are not always right, most of the time they are just trying to get free food. Not in my store of course . Why ? Because I know when someone really got the wrong order. How? Because they come in with their order and receipt saying; hey we got the wrong order. So what do we do? Apologize, give them the right order, and let them have the wrong order for free. Those who are looking to get free food, they come in saying oh I got the wrong order yesterday, or the other day hahah. Those kind of people make me sick. People who do that, get what they have coming to them. It comes back in so many different ways, remember everything you do COMES BACK TO YOU IN A WORST WAY..

Well my point is that Kay didn't got free food, so she decided to make this report. Or maybe she applied at McDonald and got rejected. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY THEY MANAGE THEIR RESTAURANT JUST STOP GOING THERE DUHHHH.. By the way you need to know more about the continent of America, you don't even know that Mexicans are north AMERICANS. K AY You don't know a bit about America. Just so you know 570 years ago there was no borders in America.

By the way. CANADA, USA, AND MEXICO ARE IN NORTH OF AMERICA.

BELIZE, COSTA RICA, EL SALVADOR, GUATEMALA, HONDURAS,NICARAGUA,PANAMA ARE IN CENTRAL OF AMERICA.

ARGENTINA, BOLIVIA, BRAZIL,CHILE, COLOMBIA, ECUADOR, PARAGUAY, PERU, URUGUAY, AND VENEZUELA.. ARE IN SOUTH AMERICA..

DIGAS LO QUE DIGAS LA HISTORIA NO CAMBIA, CRISTOBAL COLON DESCUBRIO AMERICA. = SAY WHAT EVER, YOU WANT, OR THINK WHATEVER YOU WANT. THE HISTORY DOESN'T CHANGE. CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS DISCOVERED AMERICA.
Before him ONLY NATIVE AMERICANS WERE HERE.. Stop complaining about people who don't speak English. Native Americans are not complaining about people not learning their language

So guess what everyone has the right to be any where in America or speak any language Don't be so hard on your self Dear Kay.. Peace lol.

Well, let me see, we have an African American President.

And we have a lot of good people of all ethnicities who contribute to our economy.

I am a student in a learning environment where Muslims,Christians of all denomications, Jews, Buddhists, etc. all sit around a table and we help each other with our studies, Strength in diversity!

I have nothing at all against Mexican people or anybody else from Central and Latin America!

All the ones I have met have been very nice people and very grateful to be here.

Nobody wants criminals and drunks here no matter where they come from but I have nothing at all against the people who want to be here and CONTRIBUTE things!

I needed some help installing a wireless router and I called the tech support and a woman from India with a beautiful accent explained to me how to do it and it worked.
I was thrilled and pleased beyond measure at her sharing her computer expertise with me.

I got other things to do besides wasting my time hating other people.
It is a very bigm diverse, beautiful world.

I live in Texas.

Texas used to belong to Mexico.

Texas has a great Mexican tradition!

Mexico has made a great influence on our culture here and even on our law.

I am trying to learn Spanish because I think I am going to need it.

I am soooo sick and tired of my property taxes going up and up and up!!!!
Paying for illegal aliens medical bills, their anchor children's education, their housing and their food!!

My sister in law has to go to the INS every three years to renew her green card so she does not lose her inheritance in Scotland so where is the justice in that??

APRENDE ESPANOL... THAT MEANS LEARN SPANISH

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 13, 2009

I LEARNED SPANISH EARLY ON BECAUSE IT WAS SPOKEN IN MY FAMILY AND I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT MY FATHER AND HIS PARENTS WERE SAYING -- SPANISH OR LADINO WHICH IS THE SHEFARD VERSION OF YIDDISH ONLY IT IS BASICALLY CASTILLIANO SPANISH INSTEAD OF GERMAN.

GREAT REASONS FOR LEARNING SPANISH

1. YOU CAN ENJOY THE REAL, AUTHENTIC DELICIOUS FOOD THAT THE TOURISTS NEVER GET TO EXPERIENCE BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT TO ORDER

2. YOU GET TO ENJOY SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MUSIC IN THE WORLD AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SINGING!

3. A LOT OF SPANISH SPEAKERS ARE HERE IN THIS COUNTRY AND YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THEM WHEN THEY TALK TO YOU. SOME VERY NICE, COOL. INTERESTING PEOPLE SPEAK SPANISH AND

GUESS WHAT:

THEY AREN'T ALL FROM MEXICO!

THEY ALSO DON'T ALWAYS GET ALONG AND JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A COMMON LANGUAGE DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY HAVE COMMON VALUES AND CULTURES...

REGARDING "MALDONADO'S HAMGURGUESAS", I REFER YOU TO CARLOS MENCIA'S "WETBACK ENGLISH" COMEDY VIDEO TO BE FOUND ON ALMOST ANY SITE THAT SHOWS VIDEOS.

I AM NOT USING THIS AS AN ETHNIC SLUR BECAUSE MY OWN FATHER WAS BORN IN MEXICO AS WAS MY PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER -- IT IS WHAT CARLOS MENCIA CALLS HIS OWN COMEDY VIDEO IN HIS OWN WORDS.

SPANISH IS FUN TO LEARN. IT GIVES YOU A CONSTRUCTIVE HOBBY INSTEAD OF HANGING OUT BARS AND SAD PLACES MEETING LOSERS AND YOU MIGHT MEET INTERESTING PEOPLE IN YOUR CLASSES! IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO LEARN SPANISH. I CAN'T BEGIN TO SAY HOW MANY TIMES KNOWING SPANISH HAS MADE ME GOOD FRIENDS AND SAVED MY LIFE.

Dear Kay, I hope you realize, that not every Hispanic person in this country is

A. Mexican
B. Illegal
C.A criminal

I hope you also realize that unless you your self are of Native American decent, you are also a n immigrant.
Considering most of their land was stolen from themby guess who way back when, they have every right to be here. If there was an opportunity for you to give your family a better life, wouldn't you want that. Wouldn't you deserve that. Are they not human, do they not deserve the same respect as everyone else. They are not on the streets begging for money, they are working for it. At a job that most of us Americans think we are to good for. So why don't you stop assuming and give them a break. You can't begin to imagine, some of the lives they have lead, and some of the horror stories they have all, in the name of freedom.

And if it still bugs you for god's sake it's Mc Donald's, there is another one right down the street

Don't let that bother you. Get them back by getting free food!

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 19, 2009

If you have a problem with an order, or a partial order, and the idiots at mcdonalds only hire border jumpers as in your case, always keep your receipt, and call them and tell them your order was wrong. They will replace the food the next time you come in. This business of everyone feeling helpless against fast food restaurants is a thing that I don't understand. It's very expensive to eat at Mcdonalds, so when I go there, they have to get everything 100% to my ultimate satisfaction. In other words, the food better be the best I've ever had, or they pay. I don't play around with their $8.00 combo's. That's just too greedy for me. They cost me $4.00 because I complain, and they replace the whole order. They will pay you back with food for your complaint. Mcdonalds has extortionate prices, so the burger is "cold" or I use the "they gave me the wrong order" complaint, and they replace the whole order. The next time I go there, I get my order free, and thus only pay half of an extortionate price! It works like this: Those bastards charge you $8.00 for a double quarter pounder combo with cheese. You keep the receipt. Call the manager a few hours later on the phone. Tell them you got only a double cheeseburger and no drink. YOu are mad. They will take your name, and the next time you go there, tell them your name, and they will replace whole order. So you get 2 double quarter pounder combo with cheese meals for $8.00 instead of just one. These are things that I have to do to greedy businesses like McDonalds just so I can pay a fair price for my food.

Subject of immigration

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 27, 2006

While the topic of immigration is bound to bring out arguments on both sides of the fence, I think there is usually a misconception towards those of us who oppose illegal immigration. Here are a few things brought up in previous posts and why I feel they are irrelevant.

1. "I respect anyone who comes here and works". Well, Ok, sure, I do to. Nobody is saying not to. We are simply saying to do it legally. Why is that such an issue?

2. "Unless you can trace your roots back to the indians, etc etc". Yes we are immigrants. But our ancestors came here legally and not only that but they had to be SPONSORED and had to LEARN THE LANGUAGE.

3. English is not an official language. True, we have many languages. Nobody is asking you NOT to speak in your native language, but to have an understanding of english so you can function in public. For example, what is a cop supposed to do, learn every language so he can give commands in THAT language? What if a cop yells freeze, the guy dont understand and reaches in his pcket and the cop shoots him? Cops fault? NO, immigrants fault

4. America is a melting pot. No, america WAS a melting pot back when the immigrants wanted to be an american. Now they want to come here, keep their ways, their culture, their language and not "fit in" to the american way of life. It's why whole neighborhoods now are spanish speaking only. How is that a melting pot when I can't conduct business there becasue I can't relate?

5. "Slick Willy (bill clinton) let the immigrants have a free ride". Well, this is simple right wing BS. The first president to give illegal residents a pass was Reagan. He grandfathered in about 8 million illegals. It's not a left or right issue its a pandering issue. It's ALL politicians. If it was clintons fault, what has Bush done to stop it in the 6 yrs he's been in office. Oh, I forgot, nothing.

6. "Immigrants do the jobs americans won't do". Actually, that statement is only half right. It shoudl say "Immigrants do the jobs americans won't do for $5/hr". I'll clean toilets or pick fruit, but not for $40/day!

7. Immigrants give the US tax money. Yes, they spend money, and pay sales tax. But that is a drop in the bucket to what the employers DON'T pay in payroll tax, or that the immigrant DOESN'T pay in income tax. BILLIONS. Also, since they don't own land, they don't pay property taxes which are used to help pay for the immigrants education. So no money in, lots of moeny out, causing schools to fail.

Heres some other things to consider....

1. Check out the amount of hospitals near border towns that close because of the high rate of non-payment from immigrants who receive healthcare and then simply don't pay and can't be tracked.

2. Check out the high rate of diseases we have previously eradicated for the most part near border towns, and guess what...they're BAAACCKKK

3. What about the mexican groups that openly call for "reconstituting aztlan" or as we call it "southern california and nevada". They openly advocate going to war with us to get "their" land back

4. What about how poorly mexico treats it's illegals. And it has the nerve to cquestion us on how WE do it.

Look, it's not an easy topic, but you should at least read more than one side to the issue before making statements as broad as above. It's not as simple as allowing them in. Really.

Actually Steve, you're wrong

AUTHOR: Keylania - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 27, 2006

The things you listed are requirements not official statements. Actually, there was never even a bill proposed about making an official language. The closest we've ever come was in 1795, when there was debate about translating our laws into German.

If English was in fact our official language, it would make no sense for so many things (such as standardized tests and DMV & IRS forms) to be in other languages.

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 31, 2005

Actually if you are going to correct someone, have your facts straight.

It IS written in the immigration requirements that learning the ENGLISH language IS a requirement to be a citizen of the United States.

Although the enforcement of this requirement has been bought off by the BUSH/CHENEY/HALIBURTON administration in favor of cheap labor.

Furthermore you CANNOT get a FEDERAL JOB unless you are a high school graduate AND speak and understand the ENGLISH language.

You cannot enter the UNITED STATES military unless you can communicate fluently in the ENGLISH language.

Most City, State, and County governments have the same requirements for hire.

Therefore ENGLISH IS OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGE.

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 31, 2005

The INS doesn't come and arrest illegals anymore, lady. Slick Willy saw to that.

If they did, every crop farm in the SW border states would be empty, and the farmers would cry to the government for more subsidies to pay American workers minimum wage. I used to live 100 miles from the Mexican border. Illegals have much of the same rights that you do, once they set foot in this country. Most don't know that. Some don't believe that. It matters not, since belief doesn't change law.

Sorry, Billyboy made sure they have a home here in the USA. You can't send them home unless you take them yourself, only to be criminally charged when they report you to the US police when they sneak back in here next week.

Efficiency with lack of humanity

AUTHOR: :patricio - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 30, 2005

I agree that fitting the job requirements should be a policy for every company. English should be a indispensable languaje in every company in the US. However, a little of compassion and respect towards any human being would make you a much better human spiritually. Knowing that there are people like you out there is very stressful for me. You guys don't think in anything but yourselves. You guys wouldn't accept any fail regardless how little it is nor ever appreciate the hard time that immigrant people have to face. Leaving their homes and coming to other country with different culture and languaje is more than just a lack of service in McDonalds. It points to the unfairness of our world. People in the U.S. complaint because the wrong order was supplied while people in Suddan gets extremely satisfied when there is at least dirty bread on their tables. It's more important to look at the problems in life that really matter, rather than complaining about the guy whom you couldn't understand well. I was Shocked one day when I saw a pulitzer's winner picture of a child eating cow's xcrement in Suddan. Obviously, seeing your complaint about a pointless and worthless fact creates a great contradiction to my sensibility. People like you don't have compassion for nobody and just think about their own satisfaction.Your remarks about mexican stereotypes tell me it all. There should not exist people like you. People who has no commitment to give something to society should be abolished from our planet.

English, PLEASE! ..our official language!

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 25, 2005

English is still, as far as I know our official language. I don' care who someone is or where they come from, if they come to the USA to work or live, they should be required to learn English.

Why should we as Americans be forced to learn the language of those who come here to live?

I served this country for 10 years. I have fought for this country and have earned the right to my opinion, and to the right to preserve the English language and our standard of living.

If I went to live and work in someone elses country I would at least make the attempt to learn the local language. It's all about respect.

I have nothing against any Hispanics, Mexican or otherwise, as long as they do not lower the standard of living I fought to preserve.

I welcome anyone that is seeking a better life. I do not welcome the ones however that come here illegally, suck up our social services and expect us to learn thier language so we can accomodate them.

That pisses me off.

I WILL STILL EAT THE RE

AUTHOR: Christopher - (New Zealand)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 23, 2005

Well not all is bad at McDonalds yes I know that the best thing to do with a big Mack is to throw away the Berger and eat the box but they do take notice when you complain.
A while ago there was a incident in the MacDonald's car park were a girl was raped and a person ran up to the drive-in window and asked to use the phone to call the police. (The restaurant was shut, only the drive in was working) any way the manager sead no use the phone across the road. (There had been some problem of phone abuse in the past)
So I wrote a letter to McDonalds head office private and personal to the managing director complaining that as a family restaurant there was no way in gods green earth that I would let any of my family support them again. And that I would scream long and hard that maybe they could not have stopped the first rape but that the second or third rape would not have occurred if they had let the caller phone the police.
Well first I received a letter from the USA telling me that New Zealand was a separate business in no way connected to the USA accept by way of rights of use
Then for big wigs from head office in New Zealand turned up with the police reports, explained to me what went wrong and what they were going to do about it to make shore that it could never happen again.
This I confirmed latter thou a girl that worked there.
Now there is a national policy covering the whole country
So there burgers might be crap but they do take notice.

I tried ordering breakfast at the McD's on the way to work. I went in and ordered a number 10. the woman looked at me like i had 3 heads. I then specified the breakfast burrito meal which she understood. She still didnt understand that i wanted the value meal and proceeded to hand me just the burrito with no hash brown and no drink. She then started firing off some rapid spanish to someone else that works there. Here's my thing. If you want to live and work in this country, learn the language. I dont care what color, race, creed, or sexual orientation you are. the language of this country is English. I wouldnt go to mexico and expect someone to speak english. I understand McD's in an EEO, but i dont think they could get in trouble for not hiring someone that doesnt speak the language of the country. They should have some sort of basic language test before they can be hired. All applications should be in english only. If you cant understand the application, then you probably dont speak enough english to work here.

Kay,

I do totally and wholeheartedly agree with you. This country is going to hell in a handbasket. We should have shut down the borders years ago to keep all the wetbacks out of OUR COUNTRY! Mexico has plenty of opportunities for their citizens and they need to pursue these opportunities in their own country. Caucasions are now the minority in Texas with Hispanics being the majority. Give me an f-in break. What has this country become a refugee camp. NAFTA is killing us and will take the economy down within the next few years. And to all you responders who say that my Husband/Wife is hispanic and was born in the USA, will where did their relatives come from? Exactly. Peace out.

I lived and worked in a convenience store in NJ for for 7 years. Even though I am born and bred in the US (not NJ), many people in NJ talked so fast that I couldn't understand it. I'd ask them to repeat themselves and they they would speak extremely slowly and enuciate each sylable.

I'm not stupid, but was treated as such, because (I'm mixed Puerto Rican and African American) I am hispanic.

English!

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 29, 2005

Where they come from is not relevant. I've been to McD's with Mexicans, Russians, Armenians behind the counter. The point is they need to be able to speak English well enough to function at the job and carry out the responsibilities that come with that particular job. It is not my responsibility as a customer to learn a smattering of Spanish or whatever in order to just place an order. It is the company's responsibility to make sure prospective employees can handle the requirements of the job, and if that involves customer service at the counter, then English proficiency is one of those requirements. I often ask the person behind the counter if he/she speaks English before placing an order, and if there's any doubt I'll try to get someone else to take the order.

Things seem to go a lot smoother when everyone speaks the same language. Funny how that works.

I agree with you 100 percent. My local McD's is staffed with mexicans and latin americans. I speak slowly and clearly and have taken the time to learn some basic spanish (in today's job market, that is a plus). I never have trouble with getting my order correctly. The workers are friendly and fast.

How do you know they were Mexican?

AUTHOR: Charlene - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 29, 2005

What irritates me the most about this report is the constant assumption that they are Mexican, they could be from any country from Mexico on down to Chile, and may not be speaking spanish since some people will confuse portuguese with spanish. And last time I checked who among us 100% US citizens wants to work in fast food where all the customers think we are idiots who didn't graduate High School. I am biligual in Spanish and English my first job was at a McDonalds, and I graduated with honors 17th out of about 400 students. My crew was very well trained thanks to the fact that I took the time and energy to learn the language and I feel I understand people with different accents better now than I used to. Those hispanics are most likely intimidated to even try to speak English since the customers never have the patience to stop and listen to them, as their pronunciation at first may be awful, and if they have no one to help them how are they supposed to learn and to top it off to constantly have people get mad at you because they cannot understand you will make you less likely to even try to learn and work on pronunciating the new language. Here is my advice to you all learn a little bit of any other language and you will hopefully appreciate their struggle in learning our language.

#8 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Just a comment

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 02, 2004

I've just read all the comments on this particular mcdonalds, and as someone who was once employed, even a manager, at a mcdonalds (not that one) I feel compelled to give my input.

The Mcdonalds I worked at did have alot of non english speaking employees, and as a manager, it was very hard to communicate to them the details of the tasks I wished for them to perform (If you're wondering, I did learn some spanish on my own time so I could communicate better, and work with, not against them - but I could still barely communicate, other than the basics). I think this is a potential problem, because it would also be hard to communicate safety regulations, other than the few booklets we had in spanish. This can cause chaos, although, some do infact speak excellent english, but it is not those that I am speaking of.

As far as orders not being correct, unfortunately you get that all too often. Some Mcdonalds have VERY slow service. These things are caused by a number of things. Some may be caused by a trainee being put in drive through (someone who can not handle taking money and orders from 2 different people at the same time), or a grill team who "forgets" to make special sandwiches (ie no onions), are the most often that I've seen.

Then it goes to the management. Some people really should not be in charge, and sometimes when there are more than one on a shift, one has no control over the problem. The "Shift manager" has all the say, whereas the other one is in charge of one particular area, also known as the "enforcer", or the "messenger", because they just make sure the restaurant runs the way the other guy has put into effect.

One, in particular, Cape Carteret, NC. My personal reason for leaving that company was because of this particular store. When the owner's son was working, he automatically had "the shift", because he was store manager. He had the secondary manager run the front/service counter. Well, when one runs up front, the other is supposed to be in charge of the production (grill), but this is not the case with him. He is usually found in the office, on the phone, while customers wait seemingly forever, and the disoriented grill tries to operate on its own - with little/no supervision.

Whenever I tried to help the grill out, I was "overstepping his athority", and was sent back up front - when the grill was badly backed up with orders.("Just go help drive through" was what I heard - but you can't assemble orders, when there is NO FOOD). Then I had to deal with very unhappy customers, and let me tell you - after waiting about 10 minutes (atleast) on a weekend morning for their order, they weren't the NICEST bunch, either, but who could blame 'em. And, since I was the only manager they could physically see, they took it out on me. THIS Mcdonalds is by far the worst I have ever seen, and should be shut down by the corporation. They have even received a "C" health inspection due to lack of repairs, rain dripping in the grill area at times, cracked tiles, you get the idea. They fixed the problems only when it was mandatory.

Well... thanks for letting me vent LOL

If any of us moved to Japan, or any other country where English isn't the language, we would all try to get work. We would also have to LEARN THE LANGUAGE!!! That is the point of the story. For some absurd reason, the liberals in this country have decried every attempt to force the immigrants to learn English. The immigrants who do learn the language are successful. Those that don't, fail. Get it?!

The ethnicnity of Mc Donalds eployees is irrelevant. Mc Donalds must have the worst empoyee training program of any nationwide company in this country. Their emplyees are for the most part inept, apathetic and quite often rude.

I dont understand why anyone would pay money to a company that cares so little about it's customers that it makes them wait in line way too long and be treated like crap.

equal oppurtunites

AUTHOR: Beth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 11, 2004

So sorry that your order was wrong, but, I am sure that McDonald's is an equal oppurtunity employer.

Can you imagine if McDonald's mngment did not hire someone because they were not caucasian? It would be the law suit of the century.

You have to have some respect for people who come to our country (the melting pot), and work to make their money. What if you moved to hmmm... Japan...would you not try to get a job???? Look these people are not preforming brain surgery, they are probably working at the only place that would hire them!!!! You have to give McDonald's credit for creating a diverse work place, and employing people who may not otherwise be able to obtain a job.

It is inconvenient when you order is not correct, and the manager should have been more understanding to your complaint. I probably would have had a bigger problem with him!!! I bet if you call or email the corporate offices, they would send you coupons.

we have the same problem with the McDonalds in Logan Square in Chicago

POSTED: Tuesday, January 27, 2004

All I can say is we have the same problem with the McDonalds in Logan Square in Chicago. Very few speak English. If you order anything that isn't a "number one" or "number two" they screw it up. Heaven forbid you don't order a Coke. They don't understand. I don't blame them after all it is the management that puts them on the counter. Fortunately there are like 4 other McDonalds and a LOT of other fast foods places to go to. And I do. But it does seem to be a problem with McDonalds workers not speaking English.

HEY, KAY, YOUR BIGOTRY IS SHOWING

My husband is Mexican-American and not only does he speak Spanish and very fluent English, he also speaks Portuguese and French. He, by the way, was born here, as was his mother, which does not make him a "border jumper". But if you saw him, you would "assume" he is?

How do you know they are illegal? It is very doubtful that they are illegal, as there are too many sanctions against employers who hire undocumented workers. I just love it when my tax dollars are wasted when people with no life (sounds familiar?)ABUSE government resources for petty, BIGOTED reasons.

P.S. McDonalds gave me the wrong soda this morning and it was a CAUCASIAN who waited on me.

Lady, your lousy attitude toward the workers is probably what is screwing up your orders

Border-jumpers? Illegals? How do you know? Because they don't worship your lilly-white a*s when you walk in the door?

Lady, your lousy attitude toward the workers is probably what is screwing up your orders--they probably understand you fine, but choose not to give you what you want because they can feel and hear your rudeness.

Also, McDonald's is not exactly a 5 star restaurant. It's an entry level job with high school kids, re-entry workers and, yes, immigrants, making minimum wage or perhaps a little bit more.

Why don't you work there a couple of days and see that job from the other side of the counter?

If you don't like the service, take your fistful of one dollar bills and hit the Taco Bell.
