McCollister's Transportation Group United VanLines Slick, fast talking, not thorough, movers turned out to be incompetent, sloppy, packed the truck so poorly that the dining room table snapped off, chair leg snapped off, boxes crushed and ripped. Sunrise, Florida

The estimator, Adam, was slick and fast talking.  The movers appeared to know what they were doing. They came up short on moving blankets and a specialty box for a tall fragile lamp was missing (thanks to Adam who neglected to include it even after a phone call to confirm it) However, when my things arrived at their destination, I saw how the van was loaded.  Heavy boxes on legs of furniture.  Heavy boxes on top of each other.  The fragile written on boxes meant NOTHING.  Fortunately, because we packed the boxes ourselves, nothing was broken.  However, the leg to the dining room table is broken.  The leg to a chair is broken.  Some veneer on a dining room chest is off and the lamp that they promised would be boxed at the warehouse is broken.  The movers put it in a blanket and assured me when they got to the warehouse they would box it.  These people just simple didn't care enough about the quality of their work.  INCOMPETENCY everywhere.

Carol,

First I would like to apologize to you for the outcome of your move that McCollisters/United Van Lines (UVL) completed. We know how complex and stressful a move can be and the issues that transpired during your move didnt help. It is always the goal of McCollisters/UVL to provide complete and superior service to our customers and we fell short of this goal during your move.

I want to let you know that actions have been taken internally with the crew assigned to your relocation. The team has been advised of proper protocol when initiating a move, including proper handling procedures and containerization. Our internal quality managers have investigated your case and are working diligently to implement corrective action.

Your damage claims were handled by UVLs claims department and the repairs to your items damaged in the move were completed as promised, including the leg to the dining room table and the leg to the chair. We also covered additional repair costs for items that were not damaged in transit. If there is anything that I can personally do to help bring closure to this matter, please let me know. I am here to help in any way I can.
