SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I received a telephone solicitation from Worldcom Wireless in November 2001. I explained I would not agree/purchase a "Service Plan" without reviewing it in writing. Worldcom sent the "Plan" along with a "free" phone. I reviewed the plan and it was not what the phone solicitor told me it would be. (I was told my entire state would be my home area,it wasn't. I was also told there would be no long distance or roaming charges, yet in the written plan there would be ). I returned the entire package via frist class mail (dumb on my part, never return anything like this without a return reciept request).

In January I recieved a bill for service from Worldcom. I called to let them know I had declined the offer and had returned the phone. The service center told me they had yet to recieve the phone but would go ahead and cancel my "order", even going so far as to give me a "service cancelation confirmation#.

In February I received another bill which included yet another month's "service" charge and a $250.00 service cancelation fee charge. I called again and asked about this. The service center quickly claimed they never recieved the phone and that until they do, or until I payed the "cancelation fee", I will be billed each month for sevice. It did not matter that I was given the cancelation #, never "activated", used, or possessed their phone. Even with a receipt for the postage on the returned package which shows the return destination zip, they insist that the only thing they will accept is the Post Office tracking #(there is none on first class mail).

The service center personnel were rude to the point of accusing me of trying to steal their phone and/or scam them.

I have never had such trouble from any major corporation as this. Unfortunately the upper management seems to be well insulated. I can't find anyone outside the customer service center to write or speak to about this.

I feel as if I am being strong armed here. There is no way I can "prove" they got their phone back so they can blackmail me with my credit.

I will never again use or purchase anything from MCI, Worldcom, or any of their subsidiaries. I will do my best to spread the word about their tactics.
