SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I ordered a cell phone from WorldCom Wireless in August 2001 from an ad they sent to my home. When the phone was delivered, there were several things which were not as they had advertised. I live in 302 (DE) area code, but the phone they sent me had a 609 (NJ) area code. The reason for this was that had no phones within my area code. Secondly, they were charging roaming charges for me to call my home area, contrary to their ad. They were also charging air time charges, again contrary to their ad. I called the company, and told them I wanted to return the phone. They told me to return it using the UPS label enclosed with the phone.

3 months later, WorldCom started sending me bills for the service. Keep in mind that I had returned the phone back in early September 2001. They sent me a series of bills saying that they are fixing their system to bring their customers' records up to date. I called them telling them that I never even used my phone, and that I had returned it way back in September. They told me that they had canceled my account and reveresed all the charges. A month later, I received another series of bills. I called them again and they told me they were canceling my account, yet again and reverse any charges. The next month (January 2002), I received yet another bill. This time I got upset and called them again hoping to straighten this case once and for all. And mind you, they were adding up monthly charges, so the bill was going up every month. At this point, the bill was up to over $150. I was informed that what I needed to do is find the UPS Tracking # that I had used to ship the phone back because they said they had no record of my returning the phone. They are demanding for me to give them the tracking # before they can reverse the charges. They even claim they have no record of all the phone calls I have made to try and straighten the matter out. Don't you agree that a company as big as WorldCom should have a better system of maintaining customer information? Don't you think they should have the tracking # since they sent it to me in the first place? It is about time companies the size of this look to making their money honestly instead of ripping customers off! Someone needs to stop them.
