I have had nothing but difficulties with MCI. I cancelled my service after they disconnected my wireless phone three times in a row within three weeks (each time I had to get a new number).
Every time I tried to get through to them, I sat on hold for hours before someone would talk to me. Sometimes when I finally got someone on the phone they would just hang up on me.
I finally got rid of them and kept receiving back billing in the mail. I paid all my bills and then two months later I received a letter from a collection agency saying I owed $175 for unpaid bills. I ALWAYS paid my bills. I got angry and called them but I wasn't allowed to speak with MCI because they had sent it to a collection agency. I couldn't get any information out of the agency so I just paid the bill to get them out of my life once and for all. That was December 2001.
I just now received another letter from a collection agency dated September 2002 (almost one year later). I had not heard from them in the past nine months. This one said I owed $250 and could not give me the reasons for this money. If I didn't pay it, I would receive an adverse rating on my credit report.
I was completely mistreated and abused by this company. It is unbelievable that a company like this exists. They couldn't even bill me or any of my friends right. I may have to pay this new charge because the only other option I have is to get a lawyer which would cost much more than the amount I supposedly owe.
This is the WORST company I have ever worked with in my entire life. I work in finance and I am studying to be a financial planner. I pay my bills and have always had good credit. This is the only company I have ever had problems with. If there is any organization that can help me file a complaint or suit against them, I would GLADLY help. They are AWFUL, HIDEOUS and UNINTELLIGENT people.
