MCI WorldCom Ripoff Wireless--Got to qualify for lousiest and rudest company I've ever had the misfortune to get involved with.

I have been dealing with these people (not the exact word I'd like to use) since June of 2001. I received their advertisement in the mail,it sounded good so I called them and talked to a charming sales(man). He listed the features I would get "free" as a part of my package deal which was 29.99 for 250 mins.At the time, I was with another cell phone co. but WorldCom sounded like it would suit my needs better, according to what the salesman and I discussed--the major thing being the home coverage area. When I received my bill and saw roaming fees for what was supposed to be "home", I called WC and was told that what
the salesman and I had discussed was not correct and that the map they were looking at did not include the areas under discussion. When I told them my map did include it and that was the principal reasonI switched companies the rep. just said I had the wrong map and they would send anothe one. They did and it was identical to the one I had but they still insisted I was wrong and thesalesman gave me the wrong information. I said in that case I wanted out of my contract--which was verbal only-- and was told I would have to pay a $200 penalty. I said I didn't think it was fair that I would have to remain in the 1year agreement when I had been given false information. The very rude person I was speaking to basically told me I had no choice and they had no intention of doing anything about it. And of all the "free" features I was supposed to have, the only one I was getting was caller ID. When I mentioned I had it but wasn't being charged for it the woman insisted I should be paying extra for it. Now I don't have it but my current bill shows that I am being charged it. I called today to see what my features are and the recording gave a list of about 6,none of which I seem to have. I made several attempts to speak to a live person but all I could get was those recordings. This is a shortened version of my ongoing battle with these jerks. I have called every month since my entrapment with them and on all but one occassion I have been treated with disrespect and rudeness. I am telling everyone that I have the opportunity to tell not to go with WorldCom . I will be very glad when June arrives and I can shake the dust of this company off my feet.I thought that maybe it was just me who was having a problem with them but when I searched for a website for WC I accidently found this one. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one. If someone brings a class acton suit against them I will be glad to join in.
