I took my wife's paid off 2006 mercury to MCLS to trade it in on an SUV. I ended up trading the vehicle in and the difference was right at $10,000. I added an extended warranty through easycare which cost an additional $2930. Rather than paying this amount off, I financed this amount in house through 5th 3rd bank.

I arrived home to find this "luxury" suv was leaking oil all over my driveway. I contacted the dealership and they said "bring it back, we'll make it right." I took it back the next week and they said the only way to make it right was to re-trade this new vehicle in on another vehicle of my choice. I wanted my original mercury back, however, they stated that it was already off to the auction.

I had no choice but to trade for yet another SUV, however, that amount was $3000 more. I purchased this second SUV and had 5th 3rd finance that new amount, roughly $16,000. (Pay off the original $13K, and add the $3K difference) The new vehicle still had the factory warranty, so I was told by MCLS that I could call easycare up and cancel the warranty on the first SUV, thus getting a refund of $3K from the original purchase.

All seemed well. I had no check from easycare, so I contacted them to see about my refund. Easycare had no record of me. I contacted the dealership to see what was going on. They had closed their doors and allegedly declared bankruptcy. They never sent my original $2930 to Easycare, They never paid off the original loan of the first SUV. They allegedly haven't transferred any paperwork to the DMV to show a papertrail on my vehicles. And the kicker....I owe 5th 3rd for two different notes (one $13K and one $16K) when I only have one vehicle in my possession. The money that was supposed to go to 5th 3rd bank to pay off that first loan and move up to the second loan was put into another bank in bridgeview by MCLS. Allegedly 5th 3rd has seized all of the assets and is sifting through the crooks that wove this web.

THE GREAT NEWS!!!!! 5th 3rd bank is working with me and has in their possession the original SUV and the title. They are working around the mess and paying off the $13K note since they have that original vehicle in their possession. I am still out the $3000 for the warranty that MCLS and Lester Bafia apparently placed in their own pocket instead of transferring to the warranty company like they legally and contractually are required to do.

The real sad thing....there were some real good guys that worked there that are now out of jobs because of the money gaming crooks that ran this business.

MCLS scammed me too

AUTHOR: Mika - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 28, 2009

I traded in two cars for one at MCLS Autos in Bridgeview on 03/27/07 - since the loan to value was high they made me purchase SAFE-GAP total loss protection plan for $695.00. The finance manager informed me that it's the only way for me to get a loan. So, I purchased it... and now on 03/13/09 my vehicle was stolen and has not been recovered. I still have a loan on this car with Wells Fargo Auto Finance, my insurance company paid out a chunk to the loan company since it is a total loss. Once the claim with my insurance company was completed, I filed a claim with Safe-Gap, I sent in all the needed info including front and back copies of the GAP contract. About 10 business days have passed, I called Safe-Gap for an update on the claim and was informed that the claim is denied becuase the dealer never sent in a payment for this plan nor a copy of the contract. It's weird that Wells Fargo Auto Finance knew that I have GAP coverege and they sent them info about the loan, but GAP had no record of me ever having it. Which means that MCLS charged me for this service - protection plan and kept the money for themselves. They never sent payment and screwed me over. Now I have a balance on my loan, don't have the car and need to make payments. This is horrible.... I also read so many testimonials from people about how they screwd them over. One of the owners of MCLS was Lester Bafia, he interviewed with a magazine called EXPRESS where he provided his phone #, so I am providing it: Lester Bafia 708/906-3594 he mentioned that every one of his clients will be satisfied and will resolve every issue. Well, I called him many times, left messeges, but so far have not heard from him. Tha GAP company told me that I have to go after the dealership, and that the balance on the loan is their responsibility since they are the ones that charged me for GAP, never sent in the payment and now I can't even use the service. I can't even find them anymore, I have no idea where to look or what to do. The balance on the loan is about $9,000 and I can't afford to pay this for nothing, and I don't even have that car. Also, I was informed that if they filed bankruptcy then I can do something about this, but if they didn't then I can't go after the dealership, since they just packed up, locked up their doors and left. If anyone knows anything please, please let me know. Something must be done about this, and someone must have some kind of information about them. MCLS and the owners must pay for all this damage that they have caused people. It's just not right. If anyone knows anything please let me know. I contacted attorney general office, but no response. Thank you.
