We spent well over 2,000 plus to get our pet help.but it never got the right help.It seems to me that is the case these days.people are willing to take your money, but not care enough to truly help your poor pet.these people truly are pathetic.,.not to mention on more then one visit the techs were rude and very argumentative . not to mention didn't know how to act around your pet and handled the pet rough. On one visit Dr S McComb when my dog growled like a lot of dogs do when in a vet slapped my pet.when i brought that up he told me if i did not like it i could go else where..great way for a dr who got into the business to help pets should act huh..then the final straw was today when i called to try to get her help once again..a few months back a family matter came up we were not able to make a appointment because of it.we called left a message..plus never heard back from them..they had the nerve today to outright lie and say a person answered the phone about it and was rude..thats a lie..but pretty Ironic they do not mind being rude nor hitting your pet..i know i should have never gone back.but my pet needed help and we already spend 1,000s in vet bills, time and gas we live over 40 miles from this vet,but was told at the start he was good.the biggest problem is nobody seems to be honest, caring and loyal anymore in business and will gladly take your money as long as you kiss there butt and dont question anything..and its always the innocent people, children or pets who pay..now must figure another vet to go to because our pet is suffering because the original problem was never fixed..vets in my opinion are right up there with doctors they truly don't seem to care about the people or pets the sworn to help in time of need..after all they take a oath to do so...My hope is to bring this to the spotlight and help others to not have to go through this..its pathetic

Dr. Scott McComb

Dr. Scott McComb has been our vet for 14 years. When I bring my dogs for a visit their tails are wagging and they can't wait to see everyone. Through the joys of puppy rearing to the gentleness and kindness he showed when their time came. He gave 100% of his support and understanding. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Similar dog situation - not similar experience w/ office

We took our dog Molly to Dr. McComb on a regular basis and received nothing but excellent care. On one visit, Molly took a nip at the tech and it was handled humanely. Because of it, it was in her file to muzzle her before treating her. So sometimes she was muzzled, but most times not becaue Dr. McComb or the tech was able to interact with Molly calmly and successfully. We always found the office staff, techs and Dr. McComb to be most pleasant and especially calm with Molly.

Yep I should have kept reading further I would have seen the owners reply!!!!
This sounds accurate!! If I had a dog that was a danger to my employees, of whom I have to insure during work hours, the cost of keeping the doors open, I wouldn't have even aloud you on my property, much less try and treat your vicious dog!! I would have kindly escorted you to the curb and demanded you muzzle your animal. Actually no, anybody that brings a vicious dog to an office where others might be in danger is NUTS! I wouldn't have helped you or your dog for fear of some claim like the one posted!
I seriously cant believe you posted negative comments trying to make this individual look bad. You made yourself look foolish. Something bad went wrong I am sure, but I am almost certain it was the dog owners fault!!

Didn't Happen

Story sounds a little fabricated!! My dogs don't go to the vet and growl, and if they did I would put a muzzle on him. I wouldn't take him to a strange environment if he is a threat. Clearly he is a threat if he growls at the Vet. If your dog came at me and put me in danger I would do more then slap it! Perhaps you were a little negligent as an owner. Perhaps you should have put some money into obedience training.
If this is true, (doubt it) why did you take your dog back to the practice? Im trying to understand who is more dangerous, cause anybody that knowingly takes his/her dog back to into a hostile environment for his or her animal to be abused. (cause that's what your implying rude people and abusive Dr.) Should be remanded by the local Sheriffs Office for Reckless Endangerment. Unless of course you have an IQ of 12, in either case your animals should be removed from your custody. Either your an idiot for going back there, or a Liar. This sounds like a blatant attack, if it were true he wouldn't be in business.
Lets hear what kind of help were you seeking for the dog? Obviously your dog wasn't in an emergency situation cause you waited 2 months to call back for another appointment.
How is it ironic "they do not mind being rude nor hitting your pet"
What is ironic is you say you knew you shouldn't have gone back but you needed help???? So....explain this one?
Sorry but the story is Flawed!! I am unbiased, I see another Dr at the practice. But I have met him, and as a fellow business owner I would probably SUE you, it is impossible for this story to be correct! You have caused damage to his company. Even though any reasonable person can tell this Ridiculous, there are dummys out there that he could turn a profit from!! ITS A BUSINESS!! Not a Charity! I bet you tried to get something for free!!
I will pay you $100 to see your bills from the office, and signed estimates from the office simply because I hate LIARS, people that Lie will Steal!! People that Steal belong in Jail.
My first hand knowledge of the office is, Dr. Martin, Diagnosed dog with Cancer, Dr. O surgically removed his leg last week. However this is after they tried to help me, (I paid them nothing for this) get my dog into a cancer trial at Colorado St. University. I received calls after hours when they should be home with their families.
Perhaps the no call backs was a sign that they didn't want your business? People typically are not rude for no reason.
I personally would help with legal fees to sue you for damages!

This is Dr Scott McComb, owner of the practice in question.
For all that read these reviews:
Remember, there are two sides to every story. This is obviously a 1 sided, destructive comment about their situation. Had you been present during any of the situations and received an unbiased opinion from both sides, I feel you would form a different opinion of what happened. Their dog was aggressive and always needed to be restrained for safety reasons, she was never hurt. They also are exaggerating their expenses here. I can prove they spent considerable less than they said (over the last 3 years of being a client!). It needs to be questioned as to why they continued to see me for so long if they were so unhappy. We are in the business of helping pets, not hurting them. To help put clients at ease, we let clients watch procedures if interested and offer tours of the clinic anytime we are open.

A vet that slaps animals???
AUTHOR: Valerie - (U.S.A.)

He/she should be reported.
Anyway - it looks like you're in the east part of the valley...I go to Red Mountain Animal Hospital on Recker/McKellips. They are wonderful to the animals, nice people and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Snarky techs and doctors that slap my animal? They'd never see me or our doberman ever again.

He SLAPPED your pet and you STILL went back? What is wrong with you?? By him saying if you don't like it you can go elsewhere and you still staying there, you were condoning his horrible practices. Shame on you too.
