I heard about Lipo Zap on a radio ads from KIIS FM- at first I thought it was too good to be true, but I decided to come in for a consultation anyway.

I had my first consultation for Lipo Zap in late June/early July 2007 at the Sherman Oaks facility. I was not a heavy girl (5'0, 115lbs), but I had some problem areas in my middle abdomen, love handles, and arms. The consultant was very pleasant & friendly and commented on how I really didn't seem to need their services. She then went on to explain that changes could be seen in as little as 2 treatments for me since I was not "very large to begin with." She explained all of the costs and assured me that if at the end of the contracted treatments, I did not see any changes, there was a "MONEY BACK GURANTEE". The consultant also told me that the service could be financed through Care Credit for o% APR for 12 months. I thought, "this is great", since I figured if it did not work, I would pay for the first initial months of treatment, and then be able to recover any money paid; soon after a quick credit check, I was approved for my entire treatment which was $3,350. So, I figured I didn't have anything to lose and I would give it a shot despite my husand's disaproval.

So after I convinced my husband that the treatments were non-invasive & they were very likely to work, I subsequently began my first of 4 treatments for my central abs, love handles (flanks), and arms at the end of July and had my fourth and final treatment in early October. Let me tell you that they were Painful! I had at least 40-60 shots each session which were then followed by long, burning sensations. Soon after, your body becomes very sore and your body feels like it has hot lava running through it. It was always very hard to sleep the day of the treatment since you have guaze inside of the tight garments, in addition to feeling like you were trappled by an elephant right after swimming in a volcanoe. The first couple of days after each treatment were also torture, yet, I kept going back because the staff reassured me that the treatments would soon take effect and I would see results in no time. After my final LZ treatment in October, I received two (2) sessions of Vela Smooth treatments (about 2 weeks apart) in early November. The Vela Smooth is a "sucking" type machine that releases some laser radiation which is suppose to help with the "contouring" of the area. It turns out that that didn't work either!

On January 18th 2008, I went in for final measurements and pictures. I can't tell you how sad & disapointed I was when I saw the nurse writing in my inches...after all the painful injections and sorenes, and discomfort, my bubble of hope soon bursted when I saw I had only lost 1/4 of an inch in ONE arm! I was even more upset when I saw the before and after pictures of my abdomen--which looked worse than it did when I went in! I expressed my anger to Lisa the nurse, but she was barely able to respond--- to me, it seemed as though this was NOT the first time she witnessed an unhappy and disatisified customer. She then told me that all complaints were handled by upper management which was located in a different location; all she could do was get my email and pass my message on to management.
Surprisingly, I received an email from them that evening. I quickly filled out the inquiry form and emailed it that night. Their general email response came to my email shortly after stating that it would take between 4-6 weeks for them to get back to me. It has now been 7 weeks and I have not even received so much as an email, much less a phone call from managment to discuss my situation. I have now sent over 5 emails to managment at clientservices@medaesthetica.com, and I can't even believe that the MedAesthica has not even bothered to respond to me.

At this point, the least of my concerns is the payment issue- rather, I am now more concerned with the physical effects that the treatments have left on my body-in particular, my abdomen. I am also concerned because I recently had a physical (Feb. 8th) and my Dr. informed me that my liver enzymes are high which may be a result of the fluid that was injected into me.

Over 6 months have gone by since I had the treatments and I must say that I have yet to see ANY results (which the pictures and measurements will attest to). As of March 11, 2008, my arms are at the EXACT SAME measurement they were when I began my treatment in July. In fact, now my abdominal area and back look WORSE than before I started the Lipo Zap treatment!!!!! I am extremely dissatisfied with my results (or lack there of) and I am even more displeased with the results the treatments have left! As I expressed to the nurse (Lisa) who treated me on January 18th, "I am now MORE self conscious about my abdomen than I was before I began with the Lipo Zap treatments!"

I decided to check online to see if there was anything I could do to report them. I was lucky enough to stummble across RipOff Report.com and saw that there were other patients like me who had been lured, and deceived.
I am willing to do whatever it takes to get my money back and / or make sure that LipoZap (MedAesthetica) does not keep ripping people off, by preying on their hope to find a solution to their weight.
