Back in August of 2001 right when I started school and moved into my new apartment, my roommates and I got a call from a person who Identified themselves as selling subscriptions for magazines.

All we had to do is pay for so many weeks in advance and we would actually get like 48 months of magazines for the price of 12 months. I was the one on the phone and peristed in telling them that I was not intrested. I felt as if the only way I could get somewhere was to hang up on them and that is just what I did.

About an hour later I received another call from the same company this time from a supervisor, basically telling me that I was in trouble for hanging up on the CSR and that unless I suscribed to the magazines that I would be in trouble. They offered more magazines and a free diamond watch(which I never received at all). So I had asked if I could cancel when I wanted, or if I didn't want to renew my subscription what could I do. She said cancel any time you want as long as the first 12 weeks or so were paid for.

That is what I did and they took the whole amount out at once instead of every weeks like we had discussed, like the whole 12 weeks. So needless to say I was upset and since they did this by taking out my credit card I never saw a bill for cancellation or renewal of service. No phone number nothing.

I have since moved and was paid in full when I moved and changed banks for the reason of no cancellation notice and I didn't want to be billed again. I left a forwarding address and I got all of the magazines and this past year they finally stopped coming.

However today July 30, 2004 about 3 years later I get a bill from a collection agency in the mail stating that I owe Media Outsourcing $522.63 and I haven't been getting magazines for a while and they had my forwarded address, no bill no magazines until now and all of the sudden from a collection agency.

I am very upstet and mad about 3 years later and now I am a single mother of twins and recently divorced and trying to finish my degree and can't afford this stuff. I just need so help from someone in clearing this matter up since the collection agency will not help me at all.

Thanks,

Reinee

Wrong Phone Number

AUTHOR: Lesley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 17, 2004

Hi, my name is Lesley Ledford, I work for a company in Lawrenceville, GA called Value Concepts, Inc. We are a consulting company for easements and rights-of-way, we also work with wireless phone companies to fine tower sites.

When we moved from Snellville to Lawrenceville in August 2003, we were given the phone numbers (770) 995-2714, (770) 995-2715, and (770) 995-2716 (our fax line). It did not take long to start receiving calls from people looking for this Consolidated Media Services company.

I can't remember how we found out, but I believe their phone number actually is (770) 955-2715. Whenever we receive calls, we redirect them. We have received fewer calls over the past 6 months or so, but on Wednesday we talked with a man who, after he realized we were not this Consolidated Media Services company, advised us of your website where you are displaying our telephone number.

Please investigate and change the phone number you have posted on your website, we have sympathy for these callers, but would prefer not to tie up our lines with these calls.

Thank you for your assistance. Please feel free to call me at the above numbers, if needed.

Lesley Ledford
Admin. Assistant
Value Concepts, Inc.

Phone sales are bad ..I would suggest calling the publisher of the magazine you ordered

AUTHOR: Smurf - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 14, 2004

I am unsure how the phone sales work but i think they are screwing you cause you agrred to order them on the phone. Now THATS a scam. I would suggest calling the publisher of the magazine you ordered and tell them to do an investigation.... they KNOW who order the mags for you....explain to them that your credit is screwed because of this and that the company that did this is causing you problems. That you only agreed to 1 year and they continued to send you magazines that you never recieve....quite possible they will terminate working through that company and clear your debt if possible....worth a try
At least door to door kids give you a reciept as a contract so you dont get billed more than you thought

Happened to me too

AUTHOR: Aaron - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 13, 2004

Geez, I thought I was the only one who got ripped off by this company. My wife did the exact same thing you did in 2001. I got a bill a couple monthes ago from a collection agency and they said that I had renewed my service. The way I resolved this was, I had my friend call the company and pretend that he was an attorney and was going to press charges. CMS, actually listened to him and dropped the collection immediately.
