A supposed pharmaceutical company going by the name MEDICAL SERVICE GROUP, phone number 323-338-7908, located in Los Angeles, CA, contacted me about pain managment and medication.

I thought the call was regarding a medical condition that I have and that my representatives gave authorization for this company to call me.  Interestingly enough, MEDICAL SERVICE GROUP had information about my medical condition that no one except my wife, representatives and doctors should know about.  So while I was in the process of trying to figure out why they were calling, my wife came into the room and overheard my conversation and asked who I was speaking with.

I told her it was regarding my medical condition, and that I thought my representatives had given them permission to call me.  She asked to speak with the person I was speaking to.  Upon further conversation my wife assuming that I knew who I was speaking with gave them some not too pertinent information.  Something happened during the conversation that lead my wife to believe that the call wasn't legitimate and she started grilling the caller.  The person promptly hung up in my wife's face.

My wife called back and told the person answering the phone not to use the information that had been given to them and to remove all of our information from their database. including our phone number.  Then she went online and did a little research and found out that there have been other scam report on MEDICAL SERVICE GROUP.  Additionally, she found no website for the company or address in the Los Angeles, California area.  There is an office supposedly in Arkansas though, but no phone number was listed.  Here's the information that my wife was able to obtain:  9601 Interstate 630, Exit 7, Little Rock, AR 72205-7202.  This information came from LinkedIn and was automatically generated by the site.

We're contacting the local police about this scam, submitting complaint reports to the Federal Trade Commission and the local Better Business Bureau in Los Angeles, California, and submitting this complaint online at RipOffReport.com.

Be wary of unsolicited calls from anyone.  This is a lesson learned for me.  Some of these scam artists actually have detailed information about you.  Don't know how they're getting it, but it's out there.

If this happens to you, please do not hesitate to do as I've done.  File complaints everywhere possible, and follow up on the complaints you file.
