MEDITAL IMPEX, Muhammad Ibrahim Tokk the money and ran. Sialkot Pakistan

I was seeking to manufacture men's cotton boxer briefs and published a request for quotations on AliBaba.com. Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim responded as a representative of Medital Impex Co. with a very low quote. We agreed to manufacture a small trial run of sample garments at a cost of US$400 inclusive of shipping to Los Angeles, California USA. I sent the funds, and after some brief correspondence regarding colors and fabrics, all communications from his end went dead.

I started a compaint on AliBaba. He eMailed to tell me he would return my money if I cancelled the complaint. I replied that he must return the money first, and then I would cancel the complaint. No response. Shortly thereafter, Medital Impex's company presence disappeared entirely from AliBaba.

I have a friend in Lahore, Pakistan and I asked him to try contacting Mr. Ibrahim by phone. Ibrahim picked up, and was evidently suprised and upset to have been reached. He mumbled gruffly something about a fire at his factory, and that he would get in touch with me. He never did.

Today, a great many months later, Ireceived a surprise eMail with the old Medital Impex return address, and sent via something called TypeApp. It stated: "hello sir we have been notified that some of our staff member did fraud to your company. kindly let me know how much did they take it from you. our company will try to refund the maximum amount that we can bear.".

My reply to the sending address was bounced back as undeliverable: recipient not found.
