They claim that they are doing SEO for your website when they aren't. They tell you that you need to buy a large website from them or it will be a waste because that's what makes your website rank high. This is a way for them to just sell you something you don't need. I found this out the the hard way after wasting thousands of dollars.

They also don't tell you that you don't own the website! I was with them for over 8 months and when I realized I had been lied to about their internet marketing, they wouldn't let me take my website.

All they did was trick me into buying something I didn't need. I only found out after I hired my own marketing firm.

They think they can just charge high prices for fake services and hold your website hostage because their clients are physicians.

Misrepresented Services

I'm sure most clients, like myself, did not completely understand the meaning of SEO. I was told it would make my website rank high and I needed to pay monthly for it. After a few months of paying for it I found time to research the service and discovered what MedNet Technologies calls SEO it not actually SEO. All the company did was put some tags on the website once and then started charging me a monthly fee for it. My high school son's friends could put tags on my website. Charging a monthly fee for this is completely unethical; and after consulting some actual SEO companies, I was even more disgusted. Charging a monthly fee for something you do once is not a legitimate business practice. This is the main reason I felt I needed to post on this forum. I do not want other prospective clients being duped by Mednet and purchasing misrepresented services.

I was happy with the website design but disgusted by the unethical nature of other services sold and also finding out that I don't actually own the website.

Then you need to retrain your sales staff. I am sure they work off of a commission so they are incentivized to sell pages and websites that clients don't need.

This is completely false. Mention of Mednet retaining ownership is never mentioned during the purchase process. I had never seen any mention of Mednet keeping ownership until I was referred to some small paragraph in their 8+ page contract. How do you expect to keep ownership of a website when the client has paid thousands for it. Again, after consulting with some other marketing companies I discovered that this is not the norm - again, it is unethical. It is a way to trap clients.

In summary, the design of the site was good but the unethical practices of Mednet Technologies are absurd. I would definitely stay away from doing business with them until they become more transparent and modify their services and pricing.

As a company, MedNet Technologies takes complaints and attacks very seriously.  We are proud of the results we deliver for our clients as well as the ethics and conduct of our organization.  While this complaint lacks merit and we doubt its authenticity, we feel it is important to respond so readers would understand the reality behind these allegations.

They claim they are doing SEO for your website when they arent

Obviously MedNet provides SEO services to our clients who pay for the service.  More importantly, we have helped clients achieve top rankings for competitive searches like plastic surgeon New Jersey which have helped increase their patient base as well as their profits.  

We do not make arbitrary claims about performance or offer guarantees about positioning.  Instead, when clients place their trust in us we give them the tools they need to properly evaluate results based on actual data.  From reports that detail their websites positioning for targeted searches to analytics which measure the number of visitors that find them via search engines, our clients are able to use this information to accurately measure the value of our service.  If a client no longer feels SEO is a good marketing strategy for their practice, they are free to cancel the service at any time with no penalty.

They tell you that you need to buy a large website or it will be a waste because thats what makes your website rank high. This is just a way for them to sell something you dont need.

Actually, our philosophy at MedNet is exactly the opposite.  Not only do we discourage clients from purchasing items they do not need, but we will not even engage in an SEO campaign for a client when we do not anticipate delivering positive results.  Our entire business model is focused on building long term relationships with our clients so it is in our best interest to ensure they make purchases which are strongly aligned with their goals.

We do recommend large websites to clients in competitive markets and specialties, but only when that is what is required to effectively compete and deliver the results they are looking to achieve.  An individual with even basic knowledge of SEO would understand that a site with one page per topic is going to have a better chance of ranking for searches than a site with lots of topics crammed into a small number of pages.  We do our best to match the right website for each and every client we work with.

They also dont tell you that you dont own the website.

Our pricing is not only extremely affordable, it is also completely transparent.  Unlike other firms, we do not create a custom proposal for each project which would allow us to inflate the pricing for a prominent plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills versus a dentist located in a small town in Iowa.  Instead, we have a standard price list which allows our clients to select from a menu of services rather than be forced into purchasing a package filled with services they do not want or need.
