SEO Reputation Management at its best!

RUN RUN RUN!! IF AN AGENT CALLS AND SAYS THEY HAVE TO SEE YOU IN YOUR HOME/OFFICE/MEETUP PLACE, DON'T BUY ANYTHING. LEAVE YOU CHECKBOOK/CREDIT CARD AT HOME. They will make it sound like the best piece of chocolate pie on the planet and you have to buy it now. Heck don't set the appointment. tell them you are not interested and get some real insurance.

AGENTS/ CAREER PEOPLE: Do not allow any of these guys talk you into signing on with their company unless you plan on using them for training purposes to further your career in the health insurance sales industry! That's what some of us brokers did. You will learn what to say to the client and how to say it. You will learn how to call all day to set an appointment, of course once you drive to the house you could get stood up!! Do yourself a favor and sell from a name you know, a name you can trust. Sell from your home over the phone and know that the insurance you sell will pay. Oh and another thing the divisional managers will tell you it will cost $250 or more to contract with Mega. No other company out there charges that amount to sell for them. That $250 goes to District managers, Divisional leaders and regional directors. Only $75 goes to the company. It is crazy the amount of money that flows through the doors. It is a revolving door of agents promised to make 6 figures only to be let down on their $250 investment.

Do your homework! Look on the state's department of insurance website. Look for complaints. Mega has a lot and last year they did not sell as much as previous years. Every company has complaints, Mega tries to not let their's get to the state level. Their policy is not major medical. It does not cover doctor visits/annual physicals unless you add it to the plan, which cost a lot of money. They say they are in self-employed market!! Really?? Aren't all insurance companies in the self-employed market!! And The deductible is a per accident, per illness, per injury deductible and could be meet three times in one year by one person!! OMG!! That is ridiculous. If you choose the $3500 deductible plan and you are hospitalized for an injury that is $3500 you pay first(not including the coinsurance) and then four months later you are hospitalized for another injury, not related to the first one, you will pay another $3500(not including coinsurance). That's right!! Read the policy. READ all policies before buying or selling, ask yourself, Would I sell this to my parents? My grandmother? I would have never in a million years sold the Mega plan to anyone in my family. I was actually embarrassed to tell my self-employed uncle that I sold Mega. He laughed and said "Get out of that company and sell the real stuff."

I hope this helps anyone wanting to buy or sell these products.

Just another poor ex-employee who could not make it in a competitive market. If you could not make it at UGA, what makes you think you will be able to make as a broker?

Oh, and of course, every insurance broker is honest and has integrity right? They would never push a bad policy on someone would they? No way....yeah right.

At least at UGA, they only have a few policies. And each policy has the potential to have weak coverage or great coverage depending on what someone needs. Do you need unlimited mental health coverage? Well, the HMOs don't let you cut that out of the policy do they?

I am glad you failed as an agent at this company. You should have never been offered a position to start with.

I would have to give you a big NOT TRUE.

Many agents in the company are successful and make over 6 figures. Many of the agents have been with the company for over 10 years and have married, put kids through college, retired just like anyone else in any industry.

I never paid the $250 you are talking about. Some areas may do that, but the money does go to allot of things. Big deal.

And you are completely wrong about the policies. There are many different types of policies. Some have a deductible for the entire year and some have a per incident deductible. You get to pick. If you are young and you want something cheap, maybe you pick a per incident deductible. Most people are not in the ospital more than once per year. If you want less risk and have more money you pick a deductible for a year. But the choice is there.

Example. In my state, the average HMO plan for a family is $1100-$1700 per month for a 40 year old primary. With MEGA, the average is about $700-$800 per month with a $5,000 deductible for the year for hospitilization. DO THE MATH. If someone has an annual deductible of $5k and they save $5k in a savings account, then unless they are in the hospital every single year they are saving money.

Plans in many states will pay for physicals and preventative care. Yes, you have to pay extra for it. Helllllloooooooooo?????? No one gives away free physicals. Not even the HMOs. It is built in the prices.

If you can't handle sales and you are not willing to work to make a living, then yes, maybe you should not work at Mega. But then, maybe you should not work anywhere and live on the streets.

The problem is that many ex-agents come in with no sales backgrounds when they are unemployed thinking they will make money right away. You have to work hard at any company, not just Mega.

If you look at the sources of posts for Mega, the majority are ex-employees that are losers and could not hack it. Now they are trying to work for another company recruiting through this website. Don't believe me? Re-read the above post with that in mind.
