I very recently had my car's brakes repaired at the Meineke Car Care Center in Attleboro, Ma.. The rear brakes on the driver's side were causing the wheel to lockup. The technican performed a free brake inspection and showed me that the trailing shoe was almost down to bare metal. The technican also said that the reason for this unusual wear was that the brakes were not adjusted corrrectly.
 I tried to explain to the technican why the unusual wear occured but my explanation was not listened to at all. The technican insisted that his diagnosis was correct. I should left Meineke at this time. I am old at 66 years and have worked on cars since I was 14. I have some medical issues now that prevent me doing many car repairs. The repairs resulted in replacement brake drums which were needed and new rear brakes. I was told that there would be a smell of buring brakes until the new brakes seated themselves. I agree with this statement.
  After 2 weeks I could still smell the rear brakes burning but only on the driver's side. I went back to Meineke to complain. I talked with Steve. His first comment was that I must have brake caliper that is locked. This statement was a very stupid startement because drum brakes do have brake calipers. I then become very voiced with my opinions about the brake repair very loudly. Steve did not like my attitude and said he didn't need a customer to yell at him. I paid $300 for the repair work and I had every right to be loud. Steve then offered to inspect the car only if I would not yell. At this point I became very irritated with Steve and yelled even louder. He then walked away from me. I left the location in a fit of rage. Steve would not listen to my explanation when I first had my brakes inspected and he was not willing to listen to it now. I was not willing let him work on my car again especially after he said that the brake caliper was locked and drum brakes don't have brake calipers. 
   I took the car to a nearby mechanic who said the probable cause of the buring brakes was a brake hose was not working correctly and caused the trailing brake shoe to remain in the expanded position. His diagnosis was 100% correct. He replaced the brake hose and the brake shoes that were in a very worn condition after only 2 weeks use. I have had no problems with brake shoes since then. 
  I will never again take my car to this Meineke location for repairs or even for an oil change. I do not trust that the technicans there can correctly diagnose the cause of a problem. Sometimes it pays to listen to a customer instead of ignoring the comments of a customer. I may be old but I am not feeble minded.

hello my name is steve I am the store mgr meineke s attleboro...we have very good reviews 5star reviews with yelp, google and this situation with this customer which was very rude and as sais has health issues  and more problems that he is talking about...we did his brakes perfect and offer a lifetime guarantee on all brake work..when I offered to look at the problem he was very upset screaming at me..I offered and he got very upset and would not let me help him...when a car which is 20 years old has more problems than we found originally we fix them ..I have a reputation for doing whatever it takes to make every customer 100 percent happy....our reputation is very important...I would like to apologise to this customer...but he would not give me a chance.....thank you steve. store mgr.mwineke s attleboro....
